Concept This supportive housing project is about building community and self-reliance, while providing a gateway with residents of the neighborhood. Supportive housing often has a negative connotation, so one focus of the facility is to help de-stigmatize those connotations by allowing the neighborhood to interact with the residences and get to know them on a personal level. Building a ‘neighborhood’ within the facility is another focus and by designating spaces for gathering, residents can come together, get to know each other and build an internal community. Providing supportive assistance though learning and aid continues that foundation as they begin their journey towards self-reliance. The facility will help create a support system that allows the residents and the neighborhoodt to come together, to create a new a pathway to success.
