TREND RESEARCH - SPRING 2022
After completing trend and market research, I was inspired by the bold colors and textural fabrics WGSN calls out as the “Let’s Party” mood. This idea of dopamine filled colors that spark joy embraces the new generation of post-pandemic consumers looking for fashion as an escape to express themselves. Young consumers now expect brands to step up both socially and ethically as womenswear takes up an upbeat, optimistic mood focused on global appeal. Furthermore, with many motifs and prints being bold, handpainted kitchy patterns - I explored the theme Joy to design for the Aerie Offline brand.

This season’s colors are driven by a desire to be uplifted and energized while staying grounded and balanced. Consumers will reconnect with tones that spark joy, whether from a nostalgic or a sensorial experience.
