ALAN S. CRANDALL, MD “Every little bit you can do to help can make a big difference in the long run. I really believe that.” —Alan S. Crandall, MD
Dr. Alan S. Crandall was a brilliant, caring surgeon who dedicated his many talents to helping others, training young surgeons, and providing eye care outreach in Utah and around the world. Over his 39 years at the John A. Moran Eye Center, his care and consideration for his patients and colleagues shaped a culture of family. Dr. Crandall trained hundreds of surgeons and performed countless charitable surgeries to restore sight in Utah, on the Navajo Nation, and in more than 20 countries worldwide. To honor his work, the Moran Eye Center is establishing The Alan S. Crandall, MD, Endowment in Global Outreach for Patient Care, Teaching, and Training. The aim is to raise at least $2 million in sustainable funds that will be directed towards patient care for the underserved, teaching and training ophthalmologists, and support for Moran’s Global Outreach Division. 4
