This has been an exceptionally busy time for our company as a whole. The sale of yachts like the voluminous 201’ (61.3m) Lurssen AVANTI, the iconic 143’ Hessen
OCTOPUSSY, the classic 116’ Burger PATRIOT, and the contemporary 112’ Westport MONTRACHET have highlighted our team’s ability to produce tremendous results for our clients on both the buy and sell side. In addition to four vessel launchings, our new construction team has seen the delivery of high-profile projects such as the 377’ (115m) Lurssen AHPO and the 200’ (61m) Hakvoort TOP FIVE II. Our team was also successful in the sale of three new projects including the 220’ (67m) Project MARANELLO, which will be built in conjunction with the talented team at the CRN Withshipyard.theworld returning to normal after the global pandemic, charter has returned to and not exceeded pre-pandemic demand. Our charter managers have been busy, especially with the welcoming of AHPO into our charter fleet. It was also our pleasure to present the recently refit 201’ (61.3m) Lurssen MARGUERITE to the charter market. Formerly named AVANTI, MARGUERITE was bought by a passionate owner and transformed into a modern work of art. With an experienced captain and crew, we have heard nothing but rave reviews from guests this Summer. As the Summer rapidly comes to an end, we have remaining availability within our fleet, so contact our office for unbeatable charter rates. An underappreciated part of yachting, our yacht management office has continued to grow and flourish this past year. We are lucky to have a talented and dedicated team taking care of our clients' financial, operational, and regulatory needs. As our fleet has grown, so has our team and their capabilities. Throughout all the sectors of our business we look forward to continued growth and success going forward.

Tell us about about how the yacht management industry has evolved recently?
Over the past few years, we have seen the regulatory side of management tighten, which benefits the safety of all crew and passengers as well as environmental protection. This corresponds with new hires beginning their role with a higher amount of regulatory knowledge. We have also seen yacht owners become increasingly adventurous and seek destinations outside the popular Mediterranean hot spots. Talk to the Moran Yacht & Ship Management team today to learn how they can help with your yacht operations. management@moranyachts.com
Captains and crew connected through social media can find proficient candidates for key roles they are looking to fill. In addition, we get many CVs emailed through our website from crew looking for work. We also have an extensive database that we can search for ideal candidates to provide to captains who may be looking to fill a role.
The first step is to discuss with yacht owners their preferences in order to determine the type of crew that will be suitable for the yacht, while also paying close attention to the professional certificates with the flag requirements. Once the formal aspects have been verified, we run a comprehensive reference check and interview selected crew to ensure that they are suitable for the yacht's planned activities and areas of Thenavigation.internetstill plays a key role in locating qualified crew.
Why do owners utilize the services of a yacht manager? Owners expect their yachts to be well-maintained and to operate safely and efficiently, within a set budget. Managing these expectations is a stressful task, therefore many owners choose to rely on a professional yacht manager. Other owners simply want a knowledgeable team that will protect their investment and ensure that everything is done in compliance with relevant regulations.
Does the role of yacht management begin before or after the yacht is built?
We spoke with Carly Morgan from the Moran Yacht & Ship Management team to learn how they keep superyacht operations running smoothly.
The role should begin before the vessel is launched. There are so many important pieces that go into getting the boat ready for service such as meeting regulatory requirements, setup of financial systems, and employment of a suitable crew. Ideally, we want to be involved at the early stages to ensure that things get setup properly and the systems are in place to get the boat into service on time and up to the owner’s expectations. How do you find/place crew for a yacht?

The challenging hike, which takes approximately four to five hours in total, rewards the effort with views north of Petit Piton and south over St. Lucia's craggy coastline. After a late celebratory lunch on board, your yacht will make her way to Vieux Fort, at the south end of the island.
Awake early to start the ascent of Gros Piton - the loftier of the two peaks, but the easier to conquer.
At lunchtime, your yacht will head around to Anse des Sables beach and drop anchor so you can enjoy a final meal on-board. Disembark at your leisure and depart from the nearby Hewanorra International Airport. When you are ready to explore these wild Islands, contact our charter team and let us tailor an itinerary according to your wishes.
Day 1 ANTIGUA — GUADELOUPE Day 4 MARTINIQUE Day 2 ÎLES DES SAINTES Day 5 ST. LUCIA Day 3 DOMINICA Day 7 VIEUX FORT, ST. LUCIA Day 6 GROS PITON, ST. LUCIA WWW.MORANYACHTS.COM 23 ISSUE 34
After breakfast, start the cruise to Martinique. Stop off at Fort-de-France to clear customs before heading to one of the anchorages near the L'Anse à I'Âne beach. The snorkeling is good on the outer reefs, with great marine flora and fauna biodiversity. Alternatively, you can take a kayak and explore the area on the surface.
In the morning, make way to Îles des Saintes, a group of islands off the southern end of Guadeloupe. Stop off en route at the coral garden at Pigeon Island for a snorkel to see the magnificent elkhorn and staghorn corals and reef fish. Spend the afternoon and evening at a quiet anchorage off Îlet à Cabrit and make use of the water toys. Head to St. Lucia's Marigot Bay Marina, where divers can set off on an underwater adventure guided by a local tour company. After lunch, go ashore and drive inland to the cascading Toraille Waterfall or to a zip-lining experience through the rainforest canopy. Rejoin the yacht for cocktails on the aft deck while at anchor in front of the majestic Pitons, one of which you can climb the following morning.
Head to the large natural harbor of Prince Rupert Bay in Dominica, which is nicknamed "Nature Island." Make your way ashore for a guided boat tour up the Indian River, which was a filming location for the Pirates of the Caribbean series and is surrounded by rainforest. In the afternoon, head inland for a hike to the nearly 100 foot tall Milton Falls. This is the perfect spot for a quick dip and to further enjoy the island's lush foliage and fruits.
Embark at Antigua's Falmouth Harbor and journey to the butterfly-shaped islands of Guadeloupe. Tender ashore to the leeward coast of BasseTerre for a canyoning experience among its ravines. The area features a wealth of gorges, impressive rock formations and waterfalls. Spend the afternoon sliding, swimming and jumping inside a choice of canyons - with tours tailored to your experience level.
Awake in the picturesque Vieux Fort port and take advantage of the ideal conditions for watersports.
