Introducing Nautilus
The U-Boat Worx Nautilus is the world’s first superyacht submarine. At 42m in length, this incredible hybrid-electrical sub offers deep-sea exploration to a depth of 150m.
Designed to deliver the superyacht lifestyle above the waves as well as below, in surface cruising mode the Nautilus features a sun deck with freshwater pool, bar counter and al fresco dining area, as well as an impressive beach club. In an innovative feat of engineering, the sun deck is retracted before the Nautilus dives.
There’s accommodation for up to 10 guests with a master suite and four guest cabins, all of which are ensuite and each benefitting from their own porthole picture-window. Separate quarters are provided for a crew of seven.
The Nautilus is presented to market with an interior by Officina Amare. Understandably, the ocean has been the source of inspiration for the interior styling and the arrangement centres around the 10 circular viewports, which have a diameter of almost 4m.
A mezzanine observation lounge provides panoramic views whether above or below the water’s surface, while the main deck and foredeck lounges offer relaxed seating and AV/IT entertainment. The saloon is the central hub aboard the Nautilus and is intended as the main communal space for passengers to convene.
The interior can be fully customised and alternative layouts are available. An air filtration system delivers fresh air to the interior and there’s full climate control.
This state-of-the-art submarine is constructed in steel and offers a surface speed of 9 knots or 4 knots when submerged, with a range of 3,200 nautical miles.
Equipped with a sonar system and underwater cameras, the Nautilus will bring you face-to-face encounters with marine life and complete underwater freedom in total safety.
Designed, engineered, and built by the most competent and experienced company in this field, the Nautilus presents a buyer an exceptional opportunity and a chance to achieve a number of world firsts. The Nautilus is not just a means of transportation, but is a true technological marvel built to take you on adventures around the world and under the waves.

The inspiration for the Nautilus submarine is rooted in Jule’s Verne’s classic novel, “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.” The novel, published in 1870, tells the story of Captain Nemo and his submarine, the Nautilus, as they embark on a journey beneath the waves. The novel’s depiction of a technologically advanced underwater vessel captivated audiences and has continued to inspire engineers, designers and explorers alike. The U-Boat Worx Nautilus is a modern interpretation of the fictional Nautilus, with state-of-theart technology and luxury amenities, it is built to take its passengers on an adventure of a lifetime, just like Captain Nemo and his crew.
Inspiration Development
The development of the Nautilus was a true labour of love for Bert Houtman. According to Houtman, “The Nautilus was created with the goal of seamlessly blending technology and luxury to create a truly unique underwater experience.”
Houtman and his team spent countless hours researching and experimenting with different materials and designs to ensure that the Nautilus would not only be a technological marvel, but also a luxurious and comfortable space for passengers. “We wanted to create a submarine that would transport passengers to a whole new world, while still providing all the comforts of home,” said Houtman.
According to Bert Hourtman, CEO of U-Boat Worx, “We were inspired by the idea of creating a modern-day Nautilus, a submarine that combines state-of-the-art technology with luxury and comfort. We wanted to give people the opportunity to experience the wonders of the underwater world in a whole new way.”
The U-Boat Worx Nautilus has been praised by critics and customers alike. “It’s been an honour to be part of this project and see it come to life,” said Houtman. “I can’t wait for people to experience the Nautilus for themselves and see all the hard work and passion that went into its creation.”
