Long Walk Chinese Orchestra

GUITAR

Learn how to play real Chinese instruments like the Ruan (moon guitar), Erhu (violin) or Dizi (flute). All the instruments are provided. Music leader Rick Middleton has played Chinese music for 9 years and learnt firsthand from Chinese musicians in the UK and Hong Kong.

On the Beat Youth Orbit Jazz Workshop

Interactive and fun music session for adults with learning disabilities, led by Bill Roberts who has many years experience leading SEND music making sessions.

UNDER 5’S

Explore composition, jazz language and performance, suitable for developing players of any instrument. Session leaders Matt Robinson and Dave Shooter are talented jazz musicians who also organise Lancaster Jazz Festival.

Join Dave Shooter for this brilliant and inspiring jazz workshop playing standards and contemporary tunes and working towards performances.

ADULTS 16+ Guitar Get-together A friendly and informal guitar session for beginners and those who want to expand their skills, with Frenchie, an experienced guitarist and gigging musician. Monday 5pm - 7pm | £4 | 18+

Folk Group Learn new tunes, techniques and play with others. Have fun, try the dances or singing songs. It’s a great opportunity to play your instrument in a 'folky' style, and play along with jigs, reels, hornpipes and polkas.

Baybeat Streetband Learn and perform upbeat Samba music, full of beats and rhythms, as part of the Baybeat streetband. If you want to try out exciting percussion or if you play brass, come along and make some noise. Tuesday 6.30pm-8.30pm | £3 / £1 | 8yrs+

Lune Valley Voices The Centre @Halton Come find your voice and discover the joy of singing in this friendly group. No experience is needed, all songs are taught by ear. Led by Sian Phillips, respected street performer and music teacher. Monday 6.45pm-8.45pm | £4 | All ages
