LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Counselors and Access Professionals,

On behalf of Morehouse College, I welcome you to our fourth annual Counselors Symposium. We are honored to have you on campus, and we hope that your experience today will deepen your understanding of Morehouse and its unique impact on higher education.

This symposium offers a rare opportunity to engage with our campus, community, and culture firsthand while explicitly tailored to help you in your essential profession. We encourage you to fully immerse yourself in today’s programming, absorb the information, and take it back to the students and families you serve. By sharing the Morehouse story, you are helping us inspire the next generation of scholars, leaders, and changemakers.

After your time with us today, we ask that you carry Morehouse and all historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) with you into your classrooms, offices, meetings, conferences, and everyday conversations. Now, more than ever, Morehouse specifically stands as a vital pillar committed to the lifelong pursuit of knowledge & truth, integrity and respect for others, and unwavering service to the global community.

Your role as counselors and access professionals is critical to the success of Morehouse and and all historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). By sharing our stories, inviting our recruiters to your schools and platforms, and simply “saying our name,” you affirm Morehouse College as a powerful and essential destination for academic rigor, selfdiscovery, leadership training, and professional development.

Thank you for your commitment, your partnership, and for being champions of the Morehouse mission. We look forward to a day of insightful discussions, valuable connections, and meaningful engagement.
