“I strive to be an open-minded individual who lights a passion for agriculture and God to anyone around me. I want to lead by example by being honest, enthusiastic and an informed agriculturalist.” - Morgan Marley
Growing up on a livestock operation in NW Arkansas fueled my love for agriculture at a young age and I believe passionately in the power of agriculture and the personal and professional morals that derive from it. No one else has as of a strong work ethic or value base as farmers. My family imbed in me from a young age that I must work hard to achieve my goals. The values I learned as a young child – integrity, family, God, hard work, perseverance, education – are what motivate me as an adult to be an informed agricultural activist. I strive to learn through every experience and opportunity that I partake in throughout my life. Attaining a good education is important to me. After I receive my Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education, Communication and Technology with a concentration in communication and a minor in Animal Science I plan on continuing my schooling to earn a Master’s. After I have my degrees I will have the right knowledge and experiences to create a successful career within the agricultural industry. My passion for agriculture and education are what fuels me to find a career that I will love and be successful. I aspire to work for a beef organization as their public relations specialist so that I can communicate to the public that farmers are concerned with the food, whether it is livestock or crops, which they are producing for consumers. By the year 2050 there is expected to be nine billion people on the planet. Without farmers these nine billion people will not survive because there would not be enough food to sustain them. It is my generation’s responsibility to figure out the best practices for farmers to use to continue to feed the growing world. I willingly take actions to meet this challenge.

Press Releases - While volunteering in the NEO Public Relations Office I wrote press releases about my judging team’s success throughout the season. Farm Bureau Publication Layout - At the UA I work in the ELL where I designed the layout for the Farm Bureau Publication about how to feed a growing world using InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. I also made the graphics for each page and helped decide which pictures to use. Discovery Farm Videos - My 2014 summer internship consisted of me traveling to the different U of A Discovery Farms to capture footage of the farm set-up and to interview the farmers about their operations. After shooting the footage, I would edit the video in Premiere Pro. Logo Design - The logos are a collaboration of projects from my graphic design class where I learned Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
