CHOCOLATE CHERRY SHAWL WITH TASSEL MATERIALS

Suggested Yarn: 3 skeins of DROPS Lima Brown 5610 (65% Wool, 35% Alpaca) 50g = approx 100m 3 skeins of DROPS Alaska Dark Red 11 (100% Wool) 50g = approx 70 m Needle Size: 9mm circular needles or size to obtain gauge Gauge:10 stitches x 15 rows=10 x 10cm in stocking stitch

PATTERN

Shawl: The shawl is worked from bottom to top with 1 strand of Lima and 1 strand of Alaska, back and forth on circular needles. Cast on 3 stitches. 1st row (RS): k1, k1, k1 2nd row (WS): purl all 3rd row (RS): k1, yo, k1, yo, k1 4th row (WS): purl yo twisted to avoid holes 5th row (RS): k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, yo, k1 After this, increase on every RS 2 stitches at the beginning of the row and 2 stitches at the end: k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, ‌ k1, yo, k1, yo, k1. Cast off loosely when you have 149 stitches on the needles.

Tassel: Wrap with both yarns around a cardboard piece 25 times. Thread a tapestry needle with a piece of yarn and tie the top of the tassel tightly, leaving enough yarn to attach to the shawl.

Cut ends of yarn and remove from cardboard. Wrap another piece of yarn around tassel snugly. Tie knot in wrap yarn and hide ends inside tassel.

Trim the ends evenly and attach to the shawl.
