Our project is entitled Analogous Emotions where the Vatican establishes dominance by isolating itself from the Roman fabric. This intended disruption generates an ambiance of curiosity towards this power of altercation. Amusement and awe is recognized within a collective body adhering to the alluring rules of manner. A once animated perspective of altering program and flexibility has been altered into a stagnant pool of individualized and temporary use. It is not the architecture itself that has failed, but the intention of the collective that has lost sight of the primal incentive.

La Basilica di San Pietro
My collection of final drawings in Rome represent the dynamic and influential elements of St. Peter’s Basilica. Combining the medium of charcoal with watercolor resulted in an intense technique that allowed me to portray soft and hard light contrasts.

“Morgan brought a sincere and exacting level of concentration to our studio environment. In so doing, she created a very compelling series of iterative studies based on a highly individualized intellectual pursuit with regard to spatial practices in an urban context. In all inquiries, Morgan sought to draw out the eminently real and accessible from the purely theoretical through structural logic, craft, and authenticity.”
“Morgan is energetic and mature in her working and communication attitude. Her architectural sense has been trained in good valence between emotional and logical innovation. She also has an ability to encourage people, even instructors. Her active mind of architecture will lead her to success in future, diverse situations.”
“Morgan Clark, a fifth-year student in the Bachelor of Architecture program at Iowa State University, studies both architectural design and drawing with me during the 2014 Spring Term in Rome. I found Morgan to be an energetic, thoughtful and talented student intent upon challenging herself in both design and drawing, and in my view, developed her skills considerably over the course of the semester. Additionally, Morgan projects a steady and welcoming demeanor well suited to the teamwork that one of the projects required. I’m pleased to comment positively regarding Morgan’s prospects as a young professional, and happily reflect upon the academic relationship that we shared in Rome.”

“Morgan’s work performance at Pope has continued to be well above any expectations we typically have for architectural interns. Her work ethic and attitude are exemplary. She adds great energy to the office and I believe that her potential in the profession is unlimited.”
“Morgan has been a great addition to our staff the past few summers. As lead architectural designer in the office I had the opportunity to oversee and mentor her directly on many of her assignments. Morgan would follow direction with enthusiasm, and pursue design challenges with sound judgment in their development and execution. She would complete the necessary task in a timely and thorough manner. Her pleasant demeanor and personality has been greatly appreciated at Pope Architects.”
“Morgan has worked with us here at Pope Architects during her breaks from school for the past three years, and during that time has been a genuine contributor within our project teams. In all she has done; from working in Revit models, to developing site plans, to participating in the design process for senior living and corporate project-types, we’ve found her to be exceptionally bright, hard-working, genuinely enthusiastic, and very capable. She’s just the sort of person we hope to attract to the firm on a long term basis.”

A lot of people see art from a simple dimension, but what if it became a reality?
Where the awareness of water is discovered.
An extension towards another.
