Go into Adobe Illustrator

Create a new file.

Place your raster image.

Create a new layer to trace your image.

Bend anchor points.

Finish your vector image.

Make sure your different colors are separated into different layers.

Raster– Pixelated image. Vector– A traced image without pixels.

Print your vector image that you created to the Digital Press on paper. Raster:



Vector:

Print your image again on film.


Place film with the image facing down in the center print side.

Measure to make sure the image is centered.

Tape down your film to the screen.

Place in the light exposer in the yellow room.

Make sure the film is touching the light table.

Put it on Mem 1, lock the clips, and press start.

Wash out screen, squeegee side first until you can barley see the image then flip and wash out until image appears.


Tape your pin holes with tan masking tape. Tape your frame on spots that the image is close to. Bring your screen to the press and line it up with the black lines on the pallet. Tighten the knobs to secure the screen.

Place your practice shirt on the pallet and print. Once your image is perfectly lined up put your final shirt on and print.

Put your shirt through the conveyer dryer.

Once you are done clean up!


To clean your screen use card to get extra ink off of the screen, (Click here to watch an example) then wipe with cloths and use the screen wash liquid if the ink will not come off (Click here to watch and example)

Take off all tape and place to be reclaimed.

Place in dip tank for 3-5 min.

Spray out

Degrease the screen and spray again.






Always remember to wear safety glasses any time you are in the lab!

You can also wear a smock to prevent ink from getting on your clothes.
