about me Designers give meaning and functionality to spaces that would otherwise be linear planes coming together to make an empty box. We are trained as designers to think creatively and to develop innovative solutions to human needs and challenges. As a designer, I strive to compel others to collaborate, ideate, and evaluate. This is the essence of the design process and what makes the our field unique from others. I love what I do because of the endless possibilities and exploration that results in touching people’s lives in a profound way everyday.

wellness in the workplace workplace redefined
site selection The site selection process was based on a few key factors, including adjacent natural area and park space, access to natural daylight, proximity to a vast network of public transportation, and the up-and-coming trendy areas of Brooklyn like Downtown Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Navy Yards. Brooklyn, NY, is the most populous of the 5 boroughs of New York City. Locating this project in an area that is in need of community engagement and empowerment will strengthen the feasibility and resulting success. The site is not in a geologically at-risk zone which will maintain the longevity of the project.

concept statement: Based on the historical idea of a plaza, the marketplace is a concept that dates back to the body of laws known as the Law of the Indies. These laws were created and enforced by the Spanish Crown in the 16th century. All city or urban plan was dictated by the space allocated as the plaza, a centralized point for the community to gather and exchange ideas and goods. Within the plaza, the marketplace is where merchants from around the world come to sell their goods. Customers from around the world come to purchase these exotic spices, ornate tapestries, and peculiar fruit. The resort echoes this inherent feeling of exchange in the central commons. An area of cultural growth and commerce. People come together to instill knowledge and challenge one another.
