Objective From By Laws 

Section 1. General Purposes. The objective of this corporation shall be to promote the wine industry in Santa Barbara County.

Section 2. Limitations. This corporation is a non-profit mutual benefit corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any person. 501(c)(6)

Section 3. Limitations on Activities of the Corporation. The corporation will not function as a political action committee or become involved in partisan politics, nor will it lend its name or support to any organization involved in partisan politics.


“About Us” (What we say we are) 

The Santa Barbara County Vintners' Association is a nonprofit organization founded in 1983 to support and promote Santa Barbara County as a premium wine producing and wine grape growing region. The Association includes winery members whose annual production is at least 75% Santa Barbara County labeled, as well as grower/vineyard members and business associations. The Vintners’ Association produces festivals, seminars and tastings and provides information to consumers and the wine and travel media.

to promote the wine industry in Santa Barbara County (per by laws) 

Promote = to advance someone in rank, to support or encourage something, advertise something, advance something Wine Industry = really all members (general & associate) Santa Barbara County = the entire county, be an unifying voice and a gateway to the county wine industry

as a premium wine producing and wine grape growing region (what we want to be known for)  

“premium” is not a great word Not differentiated

Out source and reinvigorate events

Work together (unify) with other wine and travel associations to maximize efforts – own the county

Become the central voice/entry point to Santa Barbara County

Expand membership (qualified and associate)

Increase revenue so we can do more

Increase engagement of members in community & industry issues
