Day 1 Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Tagdilte Leave Marrakech early in the morning via the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka pass, highest drivable pass in Morocco at 2260m/7,400 feet. The road leads to Ouarzazate via the road of a thousand kasbahs and the “Valley of Roses”. Arrive at the little village of Tagdilte, overnighting at the lodge of Gîte d’étape.
Day 2 Tagdilte – Almou n’Ouarg - Saghro Trek After breakfast, meet your muleteers and load the mules. Then start your hike on an easy path that takes you away from Tagdilte up to the pass of Tizi n’Ouzarzame at an altitude of 2450m/8000ft. Experience an amazing panoramic view of the Valley of Dades and the peaks of the Atlas Mountains. Then descend to your camp in Almou n’Ouarg where the nights can be cold and the stars seem especially bright. The total hike for the day is about 6 hours.
Day 3 Almou n’Ouarg – Kouaouch – Oasis Igli The trek begins with a climb to the highest peak of your journey, Kouaouch at 8,500ft. It
is
tucked
between
snow-capped
mountains and the Sahara desert and the summit offers an impressive panoramic view. Then there is a long and spectacular descent to camp in Igli Oasis. The total hike is near about 5.5 hours.
Day 4 Igli – Bab n’Ali – Tazlout waterfall Wake up early to enjoy the morning in this beautiful oasis and climb progressively to an amazing view over the Valley of Bouallouz. Follow the river and cross the little gorges of Afourar and continue hiking up to the foot of Bab n’Ali. In the afternoon, visit Tazlout waterfalls, not far away from the camp. Because of irregular rainfall, waterfall is guaranteed; but not the amount of water. The hike is about 4.5 hours.
Day 5 Bab n’Ali – Ighazzoune – Tifdassine Bab n’Ali is a legendary area of pinnacles and a natural gate. This was formed by two gigantic red and
ochre
rocks
that
tower
an
amazing
100m/328ft. From the foot of Bab n’Ali enjoy the amazing panoramic views over the Valley of Oussdiden and the desert landscape of Tizi n’Tagourt. Next cross the pass of Alahyan to reach the camp in Tifdassine. Total hiking is of 6 hours.
Day 6 Tifdassine – Handour – Marrakech Follow the direction of the river and cross the valley of Iggi. There the palm and almond trees on the river banks are in harmony with the adobe villages. It forms a beautiful green against the rough landscape. Hiking ends in the village of Handour. Then drive to Marrakech and pass the Valley of Draa, Ouarzazate and the pass of Tizi n’Tichka. About 2 hours hiking.
