Lot 1

1962 MGA Mark II

The MGA was produced from 1955 to 1962 by the British Motor Corporation. The “A” replaced the aging MG TF 1500 and earlier TD models, representing a complete redesign of the iconic open sports car. A total production of 101,081 units were produced before the introduction of the all new “B” model in September of 1962. Only 5,869 cars were sold in England, making the MGA the highest percentage of all British cars built for the export market. With falling sales of the traditional MG models, the MGA design was given the production green light despite being initially designed in 1951. Production had been delayed by BMC’s decision to build Donald Healey’s Austin-Healey sports cars. The new MGA was a body on frame construction and utilized the straight-4 “B” series engine from the Magnette Sedan. Suspension was independent with coil springs and

wishbones at the front and a rigid axle with semi-elliptic springs at the rear. Steering was rack and pinion and wire wheels were an option. The final rendition of the MGA series was the Mark II. Engine size was increased to 1622 cc developing 90 horsepower. An inset grill and horizontal Morris Mini taillights mounted below the deck lid were the most obvious visual changes. 8,198 Mark II roadsters were built at the conclusion of production. Presented here is an excellent example of an unrestored, unmolested original 1962 Mark II roadster. Painted in traditional old English white with tan interior, the MGA is equipped with steel wheels and optional hard painted to match the exterior of the car. A rare and the most desirable version of the last of the MGA series of sports cars.

1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

The C3 Chevrolet Corvette was built from 1968 through 1982 model years. Most engine and chassis components remained the same as the C2 but the body and interior of the car were totally new. The C3 is the third generation of Corvette while the 1969 through 1976 marked the second generation “Stingray”. The Corvette C3 was patterned after the Mako Shark II designed by Larry Shinoda under the direction of Bill Mitchell. In 1968, the car was available in either coupe or convertible models, but the coupes had removable roof panels (T-tops) and a removable rear window. An auxiliary hard top was available on the convertible. The chassis was carried over from the C2 models, retaining fully independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. Three and four-speed transmissions were available as well as the optional Turbo-Hydramatic 3 speed automatic. The three-speed 327 cu in 300 hp

powertrains were standard. The four-speed transmission was available in M20 wide ratio, M21 close ratio and M22 “Rock Crusher” heavy- duty gearbox. Engines ranged from the 350 cu in motor to the ZL1 aluminum block 427 cu in 430 hp powerplant. Presented is a 1969 Chevrolet Stingray Coupe. A frame on restoration, the Corvette presents itself as a very nice “driver quality” Corvette. With rebuilt “non-matching number” 350 cu in 350 hp engine and four-speed transmission, the red on black Corvette is a dream to drive. The 4-into-one chrome side pipes add to the sound and look of the stock appearance. Included with the car are a well-documented binder on restoration, receipts, owner’s manual, dealer brochure and assembly manual. The 1969 Corvette represents the last year of the big block, big horsepower era of C3 Stingrays.

1925 Buick Standard Six Touring David Buick founded the company that would later become the General Motors Corporation. Over 17 million cars bearing his name have been built, yet he was personally involved in making just 120 of those. Buick built 2 series cars in 1925, the Standard version with a 190.8 cu in straight six and the Master with 255 cu in engines. 1925 was the first year that Buick opted to drop the 4-cylinder engine and produced only the two Standard and Master 6 cylinder units. It was also the first year that nitrocellulose laquer was used in the painting process. Buick built an enviable reputation of stylish and reliable cars that were available in various open and closed models as well as variety of colors. Offered is a 1925 Buick Standard Six Touring model. Priced new at $1,175.00 the Touring offered both open and closed motoring for up to five passengers. This older restoration is offered in the Standard Six configuration with 21.6 hp engine and manual 3-speed transmission. A rare opportunity to purchase a nice post WWI example that has been lovingly cared for over the past 90 years!

1955 MG TF Convertible The 1955 MG TF was launched in October of 1953. A face lifted TD model fitted with TD Mark II engine, the TF had headlights fared into the front fenders, a sloping radiator grill concealing a separate radiator and a pressurized cooling system. Engine compression was raised to 8.1:1 and extra large valves with stronger springs and larger carburetors increased horsepower to 57.5 at 5500 RPM. In mid 1954 engine size was increased to 1466 cc’s and compression raised to 8.3:1 producing 63 hp at 5,000 RPM. The MG would be now known as a TF 1500. A total of 9,602 TF’s were built. Offered is this lovingly cared for 1955 MG TF 1500 representing the beginning of the sports car era in America. Light, with nimble handling and open-air cabin, the MG TF represented the best in affordable European Sports Cars. 1972 Buick Skylark Sun Coupe

One of the rarest modern era Buicks was the 1972 Buick Skylark Sun Coupe. Although production numbers vary, Buick experts believe between 1,600 and 1,800 were produced in 1972, the only year offered. The limited production Buick featured a sliding vinyl sunroof, special striping and “Sun Coupe” badges on the rear pillars. The conversion was subcontracted by Buick to the American Sunroof Company. This would be Buick’s last year for the mid-sized Skylark.

1972 Ford Pantera

The Pantera, Italian for Panther, was produced by the Italian car company De Tomaso from 1971 to 1991. It would become their most popular model with 7,000 produced over their 20 year run. The car was actually designed by American Tom Tjaarda. The Pantera replaced the Mangusta, which employed a steel backbone chassis whereas the Pantera utilized a monocoque construction. The T-shaped logo was the brand used by De Tomaso’s Argentinian cattle ranching ancestors. The first Panteras were powered by a Ford 351 cu in engine producing almost 380 hp. The hi-torque produced by the Ford reduced need for excessive gear changes. The Pantera used a ZF transaxle, had power four wheel disc brakes and rack and pinion steering. It could accelerate from 0-60 in just 5.5 seconds. Late in 1971 Ford began importing Panteras through its Lincoln-Mercury dealers. Ford ended its relationship with De Tomaso in 1975, having sold more than 5,000 cars. Production continued, however, until 1991 with numerous up-grades and model changes.

Offered is a highly modified 1972 De Tomaso Pantera. Prepared for both hiperformance street or racing applications, this Pantera has been constructed with thousands of dollars of performance enhancements. Beginning with an aluminum SVO stroked 427 cu in engine with Eagle steel crank and connecting rods, Yates aluminum heads and competition roller cam, no expense was spared on the power plant. Traditional over-heating issues with the Pantera have been addressed with SCT oil pump, Canton road race oil pan, remote oil cooler and aluminum radiator with heavy duty cooling fans. The ZF transaxle has been improved with Timken bearings and hydraulic throw-out bearings. The suspension has been improved with Koni shocks and stopping power provided by Wilwood brakes and rotors. Fire extinguisher system, 4-post roll cage and quick release steering provide for safety when driven on track days. Flared wheel arches have been added to accommodate 18x13 and 18x10 wheels and tires. An extra set of rain tires and wheels are included as well as many of the original parts. This Pantera represents a chance to own an Italian supercar that can be driven on both street and track at a fraction of the original investment cost.

1957 Ford Thunderbird Introduced in 1955, Ford developed and positioned the Thunderbird directly against the Chevrolet Corvette. Ford billed the Thunderbird as a “personal luxury car” putting greater emphasis on comfort and convenience than pure sportiness. Ford designer William Boyer was the lead stylist on the original 1955 two seat Thunderbird. The word “thunderbird” is a reference to a legendary creature for North American Indians. It is considered to have supernatural power and strength. The 1957 Thunderbird was revised with a reshaped front bumper, larger grille and tailfins, and larger taillights. The instrument panel was heavily re-styled with round gauges in a single pod. The rear of the car was lengthened allowing the spare tire to be positioned in the trunk. The 321 cu in V8 became the standard motor and produced 245 hp. A dual 4-barrel carburetor option was available as well as a 312 with the Paxton supercharger producing 300 hp. Offered is a frame off restored “E” code Thunderbird equipped with the optional 270 HP 312 cubic inch motor with (2) 4 barrel carburetors. Presented in Dusk Rose exterior and colonial white interior, options include matching “port hole” hardtop, Haartz soft top, rare a/c, Kelsey Hayes wire wheels, continental kit, and Ford-O-Matic 3 speed automatic transmission. With 89k miles on the odometer this “last of the 2 seat baby birds” represents one of the finest on the market today.

1966 Chrysler Crown Imperial The Imperial was Chrysler’s luxury car brand between 1955 and 1975. The Imperial name had been used since 1926, but was never a separate make, just the top model Chrysler. In 1955, the company decided to make the Imperial its own make and division to compete with Lincoln and Cadillac. Imperial would see body changes every two or three years and would always be powered by a V8 engine and automatic transmission. 1966 was the final year for the Imperial Platform that was first introduced in 1957. The 1966 model saw a change to an egg-crate style grill. The glass headlight covers lost the etched lines but gained 24k gold bands around the perimeter. The trunk lid budge became more squared off with a smaller Imperial script off to the side. The back-up lights were moved to the lower bumper. A new 440 cu in engine producing 350 hp was also introduced. A total of 13,572 Imperials were produced by Chrysler in 1966. Offered is perhaps the finest 1966 Chrysler Crown Imperial in existence. Out of a Pennsylvania collection, this gorgeous Imperial has just 17,820 original miles. This totally original Chrysler luxury sedan is truly a “time warp” specimen. Paint and chrome are like new. Major improvements included standard dual airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, 16” wheels, rack and pinion steering, short/long arm front suspension, and several composite body panels. The Trans Am received a close derivative of the Corvette 5.7 liter V8 LS1 producing 305 hp with the 320 hp Ram Air LS-6 package offered as an option. LS1 Firebirds were also equipped with aluminum drive shaft, dual piston front calipers with larger rotors and anti lock brakes. The WS6 package was exclusive to the Trans Am Coupe and Convertible.

1936 Chrysler Airflow

The Chrysler Airflow was produced by the Chrysler Corporation from 1934-1937. The Airflow was one of the first full-sized production cars where aerodynamics played a roll in its design. Despite Chrysler’s effort in making a fundamental change in design philosophy, the Airflow was a commercial failure. Carl Breer’s “V” pattern design was replicated from his observation of geese flying in formation as well as the design of aircraft of that period. The Airflow was the first car designed with the use of the newly built wind tunnel. The Chrysler used a unibody construction to strengthen the chassis as well as an innovative suspension due to the car’s superior handling.

HIGHLIGHTS • 299 cu in. Engine • Unibody Construction

Weight distribution was 54/46 with nearly a 50/50 weight distribution with passengers, which resulted in nimble handling and superior ride quality for a car of its time. Power was provided by a 299 cu in 130 hp L Head inline eight- cylinder engine and 3-speed manual floor mounted transmission. Offered is a wonderful 1936 Chrysler Airflow. Mostly original, the local car has been garaged and pampered by its owner. This is an opportunity to own one of America’s first Aerodynamic sedans.

1977 Bentley T2 The Bentley T Series was produced by Bentley Motors from 1965-1980. It was introduced at the Paris Auto Show on Oct 5, 1965 as a Bentley badged Rolls Royce Silver Shadow. The T Series was produced as a four-door saloon and long wheel base version was also available. A small number of two-door models produced by coachbuilders James Young and Mulliner Park Ward, with a convertible introduced in 1967. Less expensive than its Rolls Royce “brother,” the Bentley had a simpler and lighter front grille. The Bentley T’s appearance is slightly more aggressive because of the hood’s design and more rounded radiator shell. Improvements made from the prior S series included disc brakes on all four wheels, self-leveling suspension system, lighter power steering, improved seats and larger fuel tank. A redesigned cylinder head increased top speed to 118 mph. Offered is one of 558 Bentley T2’s produced from 1977-1980. In its original state, this left hand version retains its original patina and beauty. With Connolly leather seating, Wilton wool carpeting and burled walnut trim, English elegance exudes in this true grand touring saloon. Powered by the 6.75 liter L Series V8 engine and four-speed automatic transmission the 4700 pound sporting sedan is as refined as it is luxurious. As one of the most expensive cars produced in 1978, this hand built automobile represents the finest in English engineering, coachwork, and ambiance.

1975 Chevrolet Cosworth Vega

Produced in 1975 and 1976 model years, the Cosworth Vega was a limited production version of the Vega but with significantly more performance. A total of just 3,508 were manufactured over the two years of production. Racing engine manufacturer, Cosworth Engineering of England, produced championship motors to the top Formula One and Sports Car Prototype teams in the 1960’s through 1980’s. The Z09 Cosworth is a detuned version of the 2-liter engine that powered the Lemans prototypes. Bore, stroke and valve sizes were the same but it lacked the racing engine’s dry sump oil system. With lower compression, different valve timing and Bendix electronic fuel injection, the Cosworth Vega motor still produced 260 hp. All 1975 Cosworth Vegas were finished in black lacquer with gold letters and pin striping. The Cosworth included GT springs, shocks, roll bars and specially designed and British made 6 inch gold-painted wheels. A HD radiator completed the package.

HIGHLIGHTS • 1 Family Owned Since New • All Original Except for One Repaint •Originally Delivered to Messick Chevrolet, Ephrata PA

The Cosworth was also the first Chevrolet passenger car with electronic fuel injection. Air conditioning, power steering and brakes were not available. A 1976 facelift included wider grill, tri-color tail lamps and rust prevention. A BorgWarner five-speed transmission was optional. Eight different colors were made available in 1976. Total production ended in July 1976 with less than 2% of all Vegas produced during that period being Cosworths. Offered is a beautiful, one owner family from new, 1975 Cosworth Vega. Originally delivered to Messick Chevrolet in Ephrata, PA, the Cosworth was the owner’s daughter’s car and remained in the Messick family until now. It has been entered and won many local classic auto shows including the Super Chevy event. With just 37,000 miles from new, this may well be the finest documented from new, Cosworth Vega anywhere. 1977 Volkswagen Beetle

The Volkswagen Type 1, or informally known as Beetle or Bug, was manufactured by German automaker Volkswagen from 1938 until 2003. Adolf Hitler, leader of Nazi Germany, wanted an inexpensive and simple car to be mass-produced for the new highway system of Germany. He contracted Ferdinand Porsche, in 1934, to build the car. It took until 1938 to finalize the design. With over 21 million manufactured in air-cooled, rear-engine mounted rear wheel drive configuration, the Beetle is the longest-running and most manufactured car of a single platform worldwide. Hitler insisted the Volkswagen (literally meaning “Peoples Car” in German) be a basic vehicle, capable of transporting 2 adults and three children at 62 mph while achieving 32 mpg. The engine had to be powerful enough for rapid sustained cruising on Germany’s newly constructed autobahn.

HIGHLIGHTS • Totally Original • Just 7,300 Miles • 2 Local Owners from New

In 1971, a new Beetle model featuring Macpherson front suspension and redesigned front end was launched along side the “standard” Beetle. The redesign, commonly called the Super Beetle, allowed for tighter turning radius despite having a longer wheelbase that allowed for a larger front storage compartment. 1967 Jaguar XKE 2 + 2 Series 1 - 1/2 The Jaguar XKE was built by Jaguar Cars from 1961 till 1974. Its combination of stunning looks, high performance and competitive pricing established the marque as an icon of the 1960’s. More than 70,000 E-Types were manufactured over the 14- year cycle. England’s Daily Telegraph ranked the Jaguar E as one of the world’s most beautiful cars of all time. Sports Car International magazine called the “E” the number one car on their list of top sports cars of the 60’s. Enzo Ferrari called the E-Type “the most beautiful car ever made.” E-Types were initially designed as two-seat coupes (Fixed-Head Coupe), convertibles (Drop-Head Coupe), and later a 2+2 four-seat 2+2 was released on a longer wheelbase. Through its build cycle, three updates were designated and referred to as Series 1, Series 2, and Series 3. The Series one was built from 1961 till 1968. Late production 1967 and 68 models are commonly referred to as Series 1 ½ models as the covered headlights were removed to meet US safety requirements. Initially introduced with the 3.8 liter, double overhead cam, in-line 6 cylinder engine from the prior model XK150S, the motor produced 265 hp. In 1965 the engine was increased to 4.2 liters, producing the same amount of horsepower but with more torque. Also introduced were more comfortable adjustable seats and a fully synchronized 4-speed transmission. It was capable of 0-60 times of 7 seconds and quarter mile of 15.1 seconds.

HIGHLIGHTS • Celebrity Ownership

The 2+2 version of the coupe was added in 1966 and offered an automatic transmission as an option. The body was 9 inches longer to accommodate 4-place seating. A total of 1,983 2+2 series 1 ½ were produced. The Series 2 model was built from 1968 till 1971, with major changes made to address stringent pollution and safety guidelines in the American market. The Series 3 model incorporated a 5.3 V-12 engine to address performance lost in the Series 2 edition. It was a longer wheelbase to facilitate the size of the V-12 engine and the coupe version was dropped from the lineup. Offered is a 1967 XKE 2+2 Series 1 1/2 with a very special provenance. Cherished as the most desirable to drive of the Series 1 E-types, rarely is one offered with a documented celebrity ownership history. Equipped with the optional automatic transmission and 2+2 extended wheelbase, this E-type is a comfortable grand tourer with generous stowing capacity. What adds to the unique E-Type is the fact that it was previously owned by country western music legend, Hank Williams Jr. With light blue exterior and original black interior, this legend of sports car is only eclipsed by the legend of its prior owner. With copy of title with Hank Williams as owner, the E-Type’s beauty and celebrity ownership provide a fantastic opportunity to take advantage of this booming market in Series 1 E-Type Jaguars.

1968 Ford Mustang GT Convertible

Ford executive, Lee Iacocca, gave design teams five goals to achieve in the development of the Mustang. It would seat four, have bucket front seats, floor mounted shifter, weigh 2500 pounds or less, be no longer than 180 inches, sell for less than $2500.00 and be available with power, comfort and luxury options. The Lincoln-Mercury division ultimately produced the final design for the first Mustang. To decrease development costs, the Mustang used chassis suspension and drivetrain components derived from the Falcon and Fairlane models. The Mustang convertible would actually be the first produced in order to address chassis stiffness. The hardtop coupes would, however, be the leading seller in the model lineup. The 1967 model Mustang was the first redesign of the original model. The major change was the consideration and design of the engine bay to facilitate the installation of a big block engine. The overall size, interior and cargo space also were increased. Changes in 1968 were focused on safety, with a two spoke energy absorbing steering wheel, shoulder belts, and front and rear side markers. Seven engine options were

1969 Chevrolet COPO Camaro Tribute In 1969, Chevrolet offered a wide range of engines for the Camaro. The mightiest of the bunch was the aluminum block 427 cu in V8, known as the ZL1. The ZL1 was only available through the Central Office Production Order (COPO) process, normally utilized for dealer fleet orders or General Motors executive personnel. The internal “fleet” order overcame restrictions placed on Chevrolet by General Motors to only offer engines up to 400 cu in for the Camaro model. Since COPO was really intended for special paint and options on fleet vehicles, the ZL1’s retained factory warranties and were street legal. The ZL1 came at the request of Fred Gibb, a Chevy dealer, who wanted a more powerful Camaro for drag racing. A minimum of 50 cars, were required to be built in order to meet classification requirements. A total of 69 units would eventually be produced. Offered at a price of $7269.00, the ZL1 was almost twice as expensive as the big block cast iron block Camaro. The ZL1 started with a 396 SS body, F41 suspension was added, ZL2 cowl induction hood, heavy-duty brakes and front springs as well as a four-speed transmission completed the package.

HIGHLIGHTS • 427 cu in. Engine • 4-Speed Muncie Transmission • Hugger Orange Paint

1988 Ferrari Testarossa Manufactured by the Italian automobile manufacturer, Ferrari, the Testarossa (Red Head) was built from 1984 till 1991. The mid engine 12 cylinder went into production in 1984 as a replacement to the Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer. It premiered at the 1984 Paris auto show. Designed by Pininfarina, the Testarossa addressed the cabin heat issues of the Boxer, caused by water and oil cooling plumbing that ran from front oil coolers and radiator. This required an increase in wheelbase that also allowed for increased storage in the front of the car. Its large side intakes not only allowed for added cooling but also added to the styling of the car with its “cheese grater” or “egg slicer” slats, which ran from the doors to rear of the fenders. These “strakes” also made the TR wider at the rear than the front adding to increased stability and handling. The Colombo designed 4.9 liter flat-12 produced 380 hp which propelled the car from 0-60 in 5.2 seconds with a quarter mile time of 11.4 seconds. As Ferrari’s range topper of the 1980’s the Testarossa was featured on the cover of Road and Track Magazine nine times in just five years. Offered is a pristine example of the 1988 Testarossa. With just 22,400 miles, it is obvious that loving care has been taken in its ownership. The sound of the Ferrari flat-12 through 5 speed transmission is literally spine tingling. 1964 Studebaker Avanti

The Avanti (Italian word for forward) was designed by Raymond Loewy, at the direction of Studebaker President Sherwood Egbert. Egbert, looking for a whole new generation of Studebakers, employed Loewy to design a revolutionary design, from which an entire line of family cars would evolve. Studebaker, however, closed its doors before the family cars were designed and manufactured. The Avanti gave the brand one last shining moment. A coke-bottle waist formed the base for a thin-section roof with a large rear window with built in roll bar. Razor-edged front fenders swept back into the curved rear, then into a raised tail section. Inside, ample dash padding was combined with four slimsection bucket seats and aircraft style gauge panel. The whole package was accepted for production with barely any changes made to the original design. For reasons of time and cost, the Avanti’s body was made of fiberglass. Fitted with

a shortened and modified Skylark frame, the Avanti was fitted with anti-sway bars, and rear radius rods. Bendix disc brakes were the first caliper discs in domestic production. The engine was the best V8 Studebaker had, the 289 cu in 240 hp equipped with ¾ race cam, dual-breaker distributor, four-barrel carburetor and dual exhausts. Presented is perhaps the finest documented Studebaker Avanti available to market. Recently restored, the white on red automatic sports coupe retains its original bill of sale, deposit receipt, owner’s manual, 4,000 mile inspection coupon, accessories catalog, radio manual, ordering price guide and warranty policy booklet. 1959 Mercedes Benz 190 SL The Mercedes Benz 190 SL is a two-door luxury roadster produced from 1955 to 1963. Referred to internally as the W121, it was first show to the public at the New York Auto Show of 1954. Available with matching hardtop, the 190 SL was an attractive, more-affordable alternative to the Mercedes 300 SL, sharing the same basic styling, engineering and fully independent suspension. The 190 SL, however, did not use the tubular space frame of the 300 model, instead being built on a shortened monocoque chassis. Powered by a 1.9 liter 120 HP straight 4 SOHC engine, it was fitted with twin choke Solex carburetors. Top speed was 106 mph. Presented is a local Berks County car, collector owned for over 20 years. This SL was the 153rd car built in 1959. With just one original color re-spray, the 190 SL retains the natural patina and presence of a 56 year- old classic sports car. The 190 SL market has exploded with restored cars selling for as much as $300,000. However, still a bargain when compared to the market for the “Big Brother” 300 SL with examples selling in the 1.5-2 million dollar range.

2002 Collector’s Edition Trans Am Blackbird

In February 2001 Carl Black, based out of his Pontiac GMC franchise in Atlanta Georgia, produced the first series of Ultra-high Performance WS6 Pontiac Trans Ams. His performance company, GMMC, took the road of earlier pioneers Baldwin Motion and Don Yenko, in modifying manufacturer’s muscle cars into Super Performance models. Black’s idea was to combine the feel and nostalgia of the sixties with the technology, handling and style of the modern Trans Am. The result was the Blackbird. Starting with the stock WS6 Ram Air 5.7 liter V8 and Hurst 6-speed transmission found on the Pontiac, additional performance modifications included short throw shifter, high flow air box, chambered exhaust, Eibach lower springs, dimpled front and rear brake rotors and Torq-Thrust II 17 inch wheels. The 2002 Collector’s Edition Trans Am paid tribute to the last of the high performance Pontiac Firebirds. It would become the rarest Blackbird built with just 6 t-top

and 4 convertible versions produced. Only 1 CETA Blackbird convertible was built using the Phase 3 option. The Phase 3 option included front and rear Corvette brakes, line lock and the 427 Aluminum Block 600 hp engine. The Phase 3 option added nearly $30,000.00 to the standard $45,000.00 Blackbird convertible. Presented is #8 of 10 CETA Trans Am Blackbirds produced. #8 represents the only Phase 3 optioned Firebird convertible built. This is without doubt the rarest Trans Am Convertible on the planet being just one of one! The super car is as new with just 300 miles since the engine upgrade. The original LS6 engine and original parts are available. An unbelievable opportunity to own the last and most powerful of all Pontiac Trans Ams built. A collector car sure to escalate in value when compared to prices now realized for similar Baldwin Motion and Yenko era super cars.

1957 Chrysler 300C Convertible Coupe At its introduction, the 1957 Chrysler 300C was the lowest, newest, and hottest grand touring car produced in the United States, without any significant competition from any of the other domestic manufacturers. All new for 1957, the 300C stood 5 inches lower than the 1956 model, incorporating a new frame and front torsion bar suspension. Low, wider, and longer, the 300C came standard with the powerful 392 cu in Chrysler Hemi V8 producing 375 horsepower. This was a phenomenal amount considering most competitive production cars produced 200 hp or less. Available at an extra cost was a Hemi with two four barrel carburetors, cast iron headers, mechanical lifters and higher compression ratio producing a hair raising 390 hp. However, these models were only available in manual transmission. By far, the transmission of choice was the Simpson gear train three speed push button automatic torqueflite. A new dual paper-element air filter, used on NASCAR 300B cars, helped the powerhouse engine breath. Standard were both a 12 volt battery with 30 amp generator.. The 1957 300C represented the return of Chrysler as a “world class” performance and design auto manufacturer. Designed by Virgil Exner, the C featured a large windshield, front door vent openings, quad headlamps, and a large egg crate grill with elegant chrome bumpers. With its pronounced vestigial fins and large vertical tail lights the 57 300C marked the debut of the “jet age” tail fin (rear stabilizers as Chrysler called them) that Ford, Chevy and others incorporated in their contemporary models. The 300C’s were not mass-market vehicles, but the best Chrysler had ever offered to this date. The 1957 version of the 300 series was considered able to run with the best in the world. Factory colors were limited to black, white, red, brown and green – all monotone. Tan leather interior was standard.

Before its initial launch, the 300C broke unofficial stock car records at the Chelsea Proving Grounds, averaging 145.7 mph on the oval. It later won the Flying Mile at Daytona with a top speed of 134 mph. Breathtaking speed, style and comfort combined to make the 1957 300C an all time favorite of world wide collectors. Presented is perhaps the finest 1957 Chrysler 300C Convertible Coupe in the world today. With its flawless black exterior complemented with a sumptuous tan leather interior, gleaming chrome accents and wire wheels, one can only imagine the hours and attention to detail this RM of Canada restoration entailed. Powered by the 375 hp Hemi and push button Torqueflight transmission, this 300C is “over the top” in its quality and attention to originality. One of ONLY 484 that were ever produced, it is an extremely rare opportunity that a more perfect 300C is available in the collector car market. We at Morphy Auctions are proud to represent such an enviable masterpiece.

1956 Oldsmobile Super 88 Convertible The Super 88 was a full size car produced by Oldsmobile from 1949 till 1999. From 1950 to 1974 it was Oldsmobile’s top selling brand. Many variations were seen over the long model run. For 1956, styling changes included new split grill, revised taillights and side chroming. Horsepower from the 324 cu in Rocket increased to 240 hp for the Super 88’s. A new four speed Jetaway Hydramatic transmission replaced the old hydramatic used since 1940. Arguably, the Super 88 was the best combination of styling, performance, engineering and craftsmanship seen from Lansing since the end of WWII. Priced at $2726.00 base, the convertible ran about 8% above the cost of the comparable hardtop. 9561 Super 88 convertibles were produced in 1956 or about 5% of the total model production run. Presented is a pristine example of the Oldsmobile Super 88 convertible. Rarely will one find a “nut and bolt” restoration complimented with the list of options this car represents. With just 2200 miles since restoration completion, the extensive list of luxury items include, leather seating, air conditioning, power seat, steering, brakes, antennae and signal seek radio. 1967 Chevrolet Indy Pace Car Camaro SS/RS The brand new Chevrolet Camaro was chosen to pace the 1967 Indy 500. Although an exact number of Pace Cars produced is unknown, it is assumed that 2-3 were produced to pace the race, 30 were used as parade festival cars, 40 brass hat cars for company executives and 100 replicas were made for distribution to the Chevrolet Dealers. The original #1 Chevy Camaro was won by Indy’s 1967 winner, AJ Foyt. Foyt, however, turned down the car due to it not having air conditioning or a power top. GM would later build a car for AJ with those two options. The Pace Car was built with both 396 and 350 cu in motors. A floor mounted hydramatic and 4-speed transmission were offered. All cars came in Ermine White with Bright Blue interior and stripe on the nose of the car. An Indianapolis 500 decal kit was included with each of the models. Offered is a total rotisserie restored example of the 1967 Indy Pace Car Camaro SS/RS Convertible. With appropriate Pace Car cowl trim tag coding, this rare classic is even more desirable, having the factory 4-speed transmission. The car retains a matching number motor, transmission and rear differential. Attention to detail and authenticity are present everywhere on this beautifully done restoration. The engine bay and underside of the car are spotless. The drive train has been completely disassembled and rebuilt to factory specification. This rare and collectible classic represents one of the most desirable and investment caliber Camaros available today.

1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS LS6 Chevrolet produced the mid sized Chevelle from 1964 through 1977. The Chevelle was one of Chevrolet’s most successful nameplates during that period. It also provided the platform for the Monte Carlo model, which was first produced in 1970. The Malibu package was the premier Chevelle model through 1972. The SS option was Chevy’s answer to the muscle car segment, which was beginning to take off in the US market. Initially available in 8 different body configurations, the first generation Chevelles had six different engine and four transmission options to choose from. The 1970 Chevelle saw new sheet metal revisions, which gave the body a more “squared” appearance. Interiors were redesigned as well. Of the eight different body styles available in 1970, only three were available with the SS option; the Malibu 2 door sport coupe, convertible, and El Camino. 1970 also saw the introduction of the 454 cu in engine producing 360 hp in standard form and 450 hp with the LS6 option. The LS6 SS was timed in the low 12 seconds in the quarter mile making it one of the faster production cars produced in 1970. The 454 cu in motor was exclusive to SS models only. Presented is a fully documented and frame up restoration on a real LS6 Chevelle. Copies of original window sticker, build sheets and protecto-plate are present and document the build of this big block muscle car. Options included 454 cu in 450 hp motor, Turbo 400 automatic transmission, 4.10 rear axle, positraction, power steering and front brakes, sport suspension, am radio with tape player and instrumentation package. The original Black Cherry paint is flawless as is the matching Ivory

interior. Attention to detail is present everywhere and the cleanliness is of chassis and engine bay is second to none. Jim Brady, of Super Sports restoration, oversaw this one of a kind example of an investment grade muscle car. This Chevelle represents a rare opportunity to own a legend in muscle car history.

1954 Chevrolet Corvette The Chevrolet Corvette (C1) is the first generation of the sports car introduced late in 1953 and produced through 1962. It is commonly referred to as the solid axle generation Corvette. The corvette was rushed into production after an enthusiastic reaction to the concept car. Nearly cancelled, reviews were mixed and sales fell far below expectations through the early years of production. GI’s returning from WWII, were bringing home MG’s, Alfa Romeo’s and Jaguars. Designer Harley Earl, convinced GM needed to build a less expensive two-seat sports car to compete with the growing number of European imports. In 1951, “Project Opel” began in the Special Projects division of Chevrolet. The result was EX-122 prototype, which was first displayed at General Motors Motorama and the Waldorf Astoria in January of 1953. Production began six months later. To keep costs in check, off the shelf mechanical components were used with suspension design coming from 1949-1954 Chevy passenger cars. The engine was the same 235 cu in inline six as used in other Chevy models but with high compression and three Carter side draft carburetors producing 150 hp. A two-speed powerglide automatic transmission was used and 0-60 times were 17.5 seconds. The initial 300 Corvettes were essentially hand built while full-scale production was being prepared for the 1954 model. The body was made of glass reinforced plastic due to time constraints placed on prototype schedules. People were excited by the new material and as a result, production continued despite thoughts of metal bodies for the 1954 model. Performance as compared to the Corvette’s European rivals was lackluster leading to V8 power and 3-speed manual transmission being introduced in 1955. In 1954, only 3640 Corvettes were produced. New colors were available but the in-line six cylinder and 2- speed automatic were not what sports car enthusiasts

expected. All 1954 Corvettes had red interiors with the exception of Pennant Blue cars, which had tan interiors. Offered is a fully restored 1954 Corvette finished in the Black with Red interior combination. As a frame off restoration, thousands of dollars have been spent on the quality of restoration with particular attention paid to originality. It appears virtually new in every respect. Mechanicals have all been rebuilt and provide for reliable touring and driving pleasure. This is one of the finest of the original 3,640 1954 Corvettes available to the market today.

The Ford Ranchero was a coupe utility truck built between 1957 and 1979. Unlike a pick up truck, the Ranchero was adapted from a two-door station wagon that integrated the cargo bed into the body. It was adapted from full-size, compact, and intermediate automobiles. In 1972, a radical design change occurred in the Torino and Ranchero lines. The sleek, pointed look of the previous model was replace with a larger, heavier design. Most noticeable was the wide semi oval grille and new body-on-frame design. Ford produced three versions of the Ranchero; standard 500, Squire with simulated wood grain along the flanks, and the sporty GT. Engine choices were the 250 cu in 6 cyl-

The Buyer of any Vehicle who intends to use the Vehicle on the road is responsible for determining roadworthiness and for complying with all applicable regulations regarding title, registration, insurance, emission control, safety equipment and the Buyer assumes all risk of whether any such Vehicle will or does comply, and neither DMA nor seller shall have any liability

or responsibility of any kind for failure to comply or lack of roadworthiness by any Vehicle. BIDDING RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES If a lot does not receive a bid of 50% of the low estimate, the lot will be passed by the auctioneer. The auctioneer will determine the highest bidder. The auctioneer alone has the right to reopen the bidding of an item if deemed necessary due to a dispute. If there is a tie bid between the floor and Internet or absentee bid, the floor bid takes precedence. DMA and its representatives reserve the right to remove those attendees who impede preview and/or the auction. The fall of the Auctioneer’s hammer marks the acceptance of the Buyer’s bid and a contract of purchase and sale is made between the Buyer and seller. DMA is not a party to the contract of purchase and sale and DMA shall not be liable or responsible for any breach or default of such contract by either Buyer or seller. Subject to the General Conditions, including, without limitation, the Buyer’s fulfillment of Buyer’s obligations and covenants under these Conditions of Sale, title to the specified Vehicle shall pass to the Buyer when the full Purchase Price (as defined below) is paid in accordance with these Conditions of Sale. Upon the fall of the hammer, the Buyer is thereupon responsible for and assumes all risk of loss or damage to such Vehicle. DMA, its employees, officers, directors, agents and representatives shall not be liable for any loss or damage to or any loss or damage caused by any Vehicle at any time. Immediately following the fall of the hammer, the Buyer shall be required to execute a Confirmation of Purchase, which confirms Buyer’s purchase of the Vehicle as announced by the Auctioneer. Whether or not the bidder is acting as an agent, unless DMA is notified in writing by the principal in advance of the Auction that the bidder is acting as an agent for the principal and DMA accepts in writing in its discretion such notice, the bidder shall be deemed to be bidding as a principal for its own account and shall be personally responsible for payment in full of the Purchase Price as Buyer and for fulfillment of Buyer’s obligations and covenants under the General Conditions. All sales are final. No person shall be entitled to bid or shall bid at the Auction unless they have complied with the requirements of the General Conditions, including, without limitation, registering in advance with DMA by completing all such registration and other forms and providing financial and other information as DMA in

its discretion may request or require. The buyer will then assume all risk and full responsibility of the lot purchased once ownership has changed. •

ABSENTEE BIDDING - DMA will accept absentee bids if pre-authorized by mail, fax or through www. morphyauctions.com online. Absentee bidders must use the absentee bid form and clearly mark the lot number, title and maximum bid amount. Absentee bidding forms may be accessed online at www.morphyauctions.com. If there are two (2) identical bids placed on the same item, priority will be given to the first bid received. All bids must be left in increments as explained on our bid form. If a bid is “out of increment,” the auctioneer has the right to round the bid up to the next correct increment. Bidders may preview, register and place bids online through our website, www.morphyauctions.com. Seller(s) agree to allow the Auctioneer to accept and execute absentee bids in a competitive manner for potential buyers and under the Morphy Auctions absentee bidding terms and conditions. During the live sale, the auctioneer will execute your absentee bid competitively up to the maximum amount you have indicated.

ONLINE BIDDING - Online bidding through www. morphyauctions.com, Live Auctioneers, and Proxibid is also available; all Terms and Conditions still apply. If there is a tie bid between the internet bidding venues and the floor, the floor bid takes precedence.

TELEPHONE BIDDING - Requests for phone lines must be received at least three (3) days prior to the auction date. DMA cannot guarantee phone lines but will make every attempt to accommodate those who wish to participate through that method. Phone lines are provided on a first come first served basis. Please visit www.morphyauctions.com or call 717335-3435 to request a call from our representatives during the live auction.

ESTIMATES Estimates (which do not include the Buyer’s premium or any taxes) for the Vehicles printed in this catalogue are only opinions, are prepared well in advance of the Auction, are subject to change and may be amended either

orally or in writing prior to or at the Auction. Estimates should not be relied upon, and each bidder and Buyer hereby agrees not to rely upon any estimate, as fact or a guarantee or prediction of the actual selling price or value of a Vehicle, and DMA shall not have any liability with regard to any estimates under any circumstances. RESERVES The majority of our items are unreserved, but occasionally items may carry a moderate reserve. Please note that when a lot carries a reserve, the reserve will not be greater than the low estimate. In the case of a reserved item, the seller has authorized the auctioneer to bid on their behalf until the reserve price is reached. BUYER’S PREMIUM A 10% buyer’s premium will be added to all successful bids and is payable by the purchaser as part of the total purchase cost. SALES TAX Lots delivered to you, or your representative are subject to all applicable state and local taxes, unless appropriate permits are on file with DMA. Bidder agrees to pay DMA the actual amount of tax due in the event that sales tax is not properly collected due to: 1) an expired, inaccurate, or inappropriate tax certificate or declaration, 2) an incorrect interpretation of the applicable statute, 3) or any other reason. The appropriate form or certificate must be on file at and verified by DMA five days prior to Auction, or tax must be paid; only if such form or certificate is received by DMA within 4 days after the Auction can a refund of tax paid be made. Lots from different auctions may not be aggregated for sales tax purposes. PAYMENT All merchandise must be paid in full within three (3) days of the date of the sale. We accept certified checks, wire transfers, money orders, and cash. If you wish to pay by personal or company check you must have submitted a bank letter of credit that is verified by DMA five days prior to the Auction. Unless otherwise agreed to by DMA in writing, DMA will not accept payment of any portion of the Purchase Price from any party other than the Buyer. Title to a Vehicle does not pass to the Buyer, and the Vehicle will not be released to

a Buyer, until good and cleared funds in the amount of the full Purchase Price are received by DMA in accordance with the General Conditions. In the few situations where a successful bidder does not remit payment when due, DMA will proceed with the legal steps necessary to protect its interests and will block the bidder from future auction participation. COLLECTION, REMOVAL AND STORAGE Buyer must comply with all of the General Conditions, including, but not limited to, DMA shall have received payment in full, in good cleared funds, of the Purchase Price, and all Vehicles must be removed from the Auction site at Buyer’s risk and expense, by 5:00 pm local time of the Auction location on the Wednesday following the completion of the Auction. If not removed timely by Buyer, in addition to any and all other remedies and rights DMA may have, DMA shall have the right (but not the obligation) to remove any Vehicle at Buyer’s sole risk and expense and store it, at Buyer’s account, including, without limitation, removal, storage, transportation and handling expenses and costs and applicable taxes, at a third-party warehouse, and Buyer hereby grants DMA an irrevocable power of attorney to remove and store such vehicles at Buyer’s expense. Except in DMA’s sole discretion, no Vehicle shall be released to Buyer until DMA has received payment in full, in good cleared funds, of the Purchase Price for the Vehicle, and Buyer has fully complied with the General Conditions. ROADWORTHINESS/COMPLIANCE Notwithstanding any verbal or written statement or description of any kind regarding any Vehicle, whether by or on behalf of DMA or seller, including, without limitation, in the catalogue for the Auction, all Vehicles are sold “as is” and only as collector’s items and Vehicles may not be suitable for use on the road. The Buyer of any Vehicle who intends to use the Vehicle on the road is responsible for determining roadworthiness and for complying with all applicable regulations regarding title, registration, insurance, emission control, safety equipment and the Buyer assumes all risk of whether any such Vehicle will or does comply, and neither DMA nor seller shall have any liability or responsibility of any kind for failure to comply or lack of roadworthiness by any Vehicle.
