Cane Roots Art Gallery – 340-718-4929
“I began collecting art in 1981 and am still collecting which has manifested itself into the launch of Cane Roots Art Gallery, the blue and white building at 24 Company Street,” says owner Sonia Deane. “Though I am not an artist myself, the process of the gallery renovation became a canvas for me. I believe that there is a renaissance of the artist community here and I am truly excited to be a part of it. The “175” Year of Emancipation in the VI ushers in reflection and celebration. We will be exhibiting artworks of Elwin Joseph, Elisa McKay, John Jones, Danica David, El’Roy Simmonds, LaVaughn Belle, and Niarus Walker among others, through September. A wonderful calendar of exhibits continues for 2023 and we also hope to serve as an assemblage of artists and a convergence of ideas. I look forward to sharing it with you, bringing art into to your home, and experiencing the transformation.” The gallery will be open Tuesday thru Friday, 10am-5pm, Saturday, Noon-5pm, or by appointment. www.canerootsartgallery.com, FB, IG
