“I began collecting art in 1981 and am still collecting which has manifested itself into the launch of Cane Roots Art Gallery, the blue and white building at 24 Company Street,” says owner Sonia Deane. “Though I am not an artist myself, the process of the gallery renovation became a canvas for me. I believe that there is a renaissance of the artist community here and I am truly excited to be a part of it. Watch for 4 Artist Pop Ups in February (see Events Calendar) and, opening March 10, The Color of Light with El’Roy Simmonds and Niarus Walker. A wonderful calendar of exhibits continues for 2023 and we also hope to serve as an assemblage of artists and a convergence of ideas.
