Schooner Roseway is Back in Christiansted Harbor this Winter!

World Ocean School is exceptionally proud to be engaging the St. Croix community for their 15th season of educational programming.

While World Ocean School programming on St. Croix may still look different in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, they are committed to providing high-quality, safe, exciting opportunities for students and families and will be offering multi-day and overnight trips aboard Roseway to their educational program partners across the island this winter.

Students engage in lessons on navigation, buoyancy, simple machines, the Dutchman’s Log (testing for speed), coral reef ecology, poetry of the sea, and so much more. These hands-on lessons make in-classroom learning tangible, and spark a deeper interest and engagement in academic and real-world learning.

Roseway will set sail for evening cruises from 4-6 pm throughout the winter season when World Ocean School is not hosting after-school programming for local students. There will also be special community sailing events in partnership with CHANT. More details to come. For all sailing events, passengers will help the crew set sail, enjoy the view of St. Croix from the water, and purchase beverages if they choose.

World Ocean School will be offering sunset sail tickets at a discounted rate for St. Croix residents, and offering our standard rates of $40 per child and $50 per adult for non-residents.

World Ocean School will also be hosting their second annual Music at the Mooring series of exclusive private concerts aboard Roseway with Kevin Williams Jr. on Feb 3, and Mama’s Black Sheep on Feb 10, 2022. This is a fundraising series to help support free programming for St. Croix students all winter long. Tickets are $100/person for one concert. Guests may purchase tickets for sunset sails and Music at the Mooring on our website,

We look forward to continuing our work with our partners on St. Croix this season and we can’t wait to welcome you aboard!
