NEW EAST END MARINE PARK VISITOR CENTER NOW OPEN!

Its wild and wonderful and open for viewing at the East End Marine Park on the Southshore at Gread Pond Field. See location on the Island Map, Pg 55.

Meant mostly for educators and school groups as a teaching mechanism for all things marine—natural resources and habitats, as an adult I loved it testing my knowledge about life underwater and above through touch-screen LCD displays, games, colorful educational plaques, and an ‘underwater’ walkthrough! Interactive color, fun, challenges, and information!

Several years in the making, it is downstairs from Park Headquarters and surrounded by a huge open field, great for walking, jogging, or kite flying with picnic tables and beach access available. The Friends of the EEMP have also been offering Astronomy By the Sea once a month for Stargazing here. See Events Calendar, Pg 6.

Due to Covid-19 social distancing practices at press time, the center has a limited capacity of 10 people at a time and masks are required for entry. Come visit and learn! Open Thursday and Friday, 9:30am – 4pm and First Saturdays, 9:30 – 4pm
