Started shaping boards at Yallingup in 1976. Mainly shaping shortboards, fishes and mals. Has had a few State champs riding both shortboards and mals. Trying to make boards as fast and manoeuvrable, as possible, doing a lot of quads with concave vees that are going amazing. Started making epoxy boards a couple of years ago and now they have become about 90% of production; their lightness/strength and performance is certainly a winner.

Ron Wade

Ron started shaping in 1964 at Dale Surfboards when the average-size board was between 9’0” to 10’6” and as the years rolled on so did the progression of smaller boards. In 1967 Ron created his own brand and over the years had many of Australia’s top surfers on his team. Ron’s experience and dedication to detail is evident in his shapes today.

Owen Wright is perhaps the most dynamic young surfer in the world today. His boards reflect his new wave aerial approach to surfing. Laurie Byrne has been working closely with him on his designs. His boards have a full concave bottom through a gently increasing bottom curve. Rails are very soft forward, but quite blocky and hard about the tail that is quite round in outline.
