Seven Hills If long-distance adventure riding’s not really your thing, slip a fresh rear knobby on your trail or enduro bike and head to Coffs Harbour in September. Coffs Harbour Detour and TBAM will host three days of balls-to-the-wall, subtropical rainforest riding on NSW’s sensational mid-north coast. Kicking off on September 11, riders will tackle seven gnarly hills joined by superb forest riding. The hills will start easy, but get tougher as the ride

progresses. Number Seven is a piss-cutter! All hills will have alternate routes, and whether or not hills are your idea of a good time, the riding will be spectacular, forest single-trail and fire road. Returning to the same accommodation each night, it’ll be a minimum travel, maximum rort kind of ride. For pricing, bookings and more info call Coffs Harbour Detour on (02) 6654 4690 or Boris on 0407 300 690.

Longest Day guided tour Ever wanted to experience a Longest Day ride, but aren’t too comfortable about sticking your neck out for 15 hours or so of full-throttle, hard-arse, race-pace rorting? Here’s your chance to experience the rush without the high-level risk. Boris Everson, one of the legends who made it out past Cameron Corner in the 2008 attempt, and Coffs Harbour Detour, will lead a group of riders over the course on a sensational, guided dualsport tour. Leaving from Sawtell Headland south of Coffs Harbour on Monday, November 2, the Detour Crew will lead riders to the morning tea stop at Ebor Falls (west of Dorrigo), then on to refuel at Guyra before tackling the famous Baldersleigh Road with stops to view crash sites of past Longest Day rides. See the jagged rocks of Jake’s Jump and pace out the air-
borne distance of Marty’s Mistake. From there the group will swoop through the gorgeous hills and winding roads to Bundara, Gulf Creek, Upper Horton (lunch) and the northern end of Mt Kaputar National Park, stopping overnight in Narrabri. Day two will head west through Cuttabri, Pilliga, Come By Chance, Carinda (refuel and lunch), Gongolgon, Billybingbone, past Mt Oxley and on to an overnight stay in North Bourke. Day three continues west, Straight into Australia’s real outback, desert bulldust, searing, dry heat out to Wanaaring (refuel and lunch) via Poison Point Plain, then on to an overnight stay in Tibooburra. Day four is Cameron Corner via Fort Grey, stopping The Corner for a rest, photos, lunch and refreshments. Depending on road conditions the tour may
have a different return route from Cameron Corner to Tibooburra for an overnight stay. The final day will run from Tibooburra to Bourke, via Wanaaring, where the tour completes. It’ll be one sensational ride, and all the time remembering, this is the route Longest Day warriors cover in a single day. Hoo-aah! Some details may vary as weather and conditions force changes, but this is the route we’re aiming at. The price of this ride of a lifetime? $1499, plus riders purchase their own fuel, alcoholic drinks and evening meals. For bookings and more info call Coffs Harbour Detour on (02) 6654 4690 or Boris on 0407 300 690. www.tbam.com.au
