The Vintage Motor Cycle Club leading the

Welcome to the biggest and best Vintage & Classic motorcycle club in the world.

Please enjoy this personal insight into our 2022 Riding Diary with over 1300 rides, 50 key events and 1000 social meetings all over the UK. Added up, they make you an important part of the largest and growing community of vintage & classic motorcyclists.

Our members' interests span the whole range of motorcycle eras, from the 1900s to the early 1990s and everything in between. From mopeds to superbikes, all are of interest.

From our HQ in Burton-upon-Trent we look after 13,500 members across the UK, many of whom enjoy our riding events plus further opportunities to get involved, which are being added to our website all the time. Full information is at www.vmcc.net

This year the VMCC will be launching regional hubs at locations to include the Ace Café London and Ambergate near Matlock. We are currently looking at venues in Solihull and Wiltshire as well. These will offer a members more opportunity to build a vintage & classic motorcycling community in established areas of interest to the biking community. This includes the ability to drop in any time with café facilities and motorcycle friendly parking – basically the perfect place to start and finish a ride.

We have 85 active sections across the UK with our active members riding and restoring motorcycles which are over 25 years old.

We're an international club too, with 64 motorcycle clubs worldwide affiliated to the VMCC, giving our members a direct international link to fellow vintage and classic riders internationally.

Way For 75 Years

We have the world leading motorcycle reference library service, including the largest and most experienced, DVLA approved, machine dating services, assisting more owners to get an age-related registration than any other club.

If you want to save money, our insurance scheme is worth a look, offering the most competitive insurance rates and highquality cover for 90% of our members. In surveys, we found that VMCC members pay as little as £30-£50 per bike – our scheme also allows members to insure their modern motorcycle alongside a classic.

The Club runs the UK’s largest vintage & classic bike event –the Festival of 1000 Bikes at Mallory Park – for those who want to parade their machines on track, while our racing arm – British Historic Racing – caters for those wishing to compete.

The Banbury Run, our flagship event, is the world’s largest meeting for vintage & veteran motorcycles, attracting over 500 riders on pre-1930 machines. It's good for spectators as well, truly something for everyone, of any age, interested in preserving and riding old motorcycles.

Maybe you don't own an older bike yet? Try one of ours. The Club has a garage of 16 bikes of all eras available for loan to members, varying from a 50cc moped, CBT qualifying 125s to a 1200cc Yamaha. There is even a Brough Superior and three competition motorcycles which are all available for member use. This is a great opportunity to try out a machine on a ride with your local Section whilst you look for the vintage or classic bike of your dreams.

Many of our sections, notably The Taverners, offer trials and trail riding on classic machines for those who are happiest riding away from surfaced roads. Make contact with any of the Sections listed in the back pages or enquire at www.vmcc.net/join

Please accept our open invitation to come along to our events or meetings, where you will be warmly welcomed. Details of who we are, where we meet and what we offer are all included in this 2022 Diary of 1000 Rides.
