GET IN GEAR
MOTOCROSS STAR
Excitement is building to fever pitch within the dirt bike world for the Classic Dirt Bike Show on February 8-9, once again supported by Hagon.
No matter what discipline you are involved in, the talk is of the show and a variation of: “Going to Telford?” crops up in conversations. Make no mistake, for us offroaders this is better than Christmas.
There are of course many reasons why we head to Telford. For some it’s a chance to display their latest restoration project which has consumed many hours in the workshop. Others will pick up last-minute bits and pieces to nish a bike for the coming season.
Riders seek out events to compete in while organisers
TRIALS LEGEND
of events and series will be there too, just as eager to sign up riders as those riders are to sign up for a season of mud-spattered thrills and maybe a few spills.
Whether or not you know your knobblies from your holeshots, one of the big things at Telford is the chance to talk to other enthusiasts. Discover you’re not alone in struggling to fettle the knorbled grunge pump on the Flying Albatross – it’s dead simple, turn it on its side and the waf e sprocket just drops out!
It isn’t just bikes and bits though, as there will be special guests to chat to and hear from over the weekend.
Former world 500cc MX champion Graham Noyce has agreed to be front and centre of this year’s show.
From his early exploits in the burgeoning ‘schoolboy scrambles’ scene of the Sixties to the dizzy heights of world MX, ‘Noycey’ has a tale or two to tell.
He will be joined by trials, enduro and MX legend Mick Andrews, whose fabulous career encompasses the end of the British industry, the dominance of the Spanish scene and the introduction of the Japanese manufacturers.
The ve-time SSDT winner, ISDT gold medallist and top scrambler can recount a fascinating life of sporting success.
See you at Telford in February!

OWelcome all dirt bike fans to the 2025 show!
nce again, we’re in for a preseason catch-up with friends and competitors to either nd that elusive part to nish a project, or simply to gaze at the vast array of stunning machines on display over the weekend.
As we re ect on 11 years of sponsorship, our highlight has always been meeting some of the great people
along the way. We also enjoy judging the incredible raft of wonderful bikes… but it is no easy task, especially after the many hours people were able/forced to spend in the garage courtesy of Covid!
Thank you to all the people who have supported the show, and long may this continue. A special mention to all the Classic Bike Shows team who work
tirelessly in the background to make the event happen, and for us to enjoy.
We cannot believe it has been 11 years since Hagon began sponsoring the show. It’s been an incredible journey and we’ve enjoyed this time immensely, but the time has come to hand the reins over to somebody else.
However, we look forward to still
supporting this fantastic event in 2026 and beyond.
Wishing you all a successful and safe dirt bike season, and we look forward to catching up with you all somewhere muddy soon!
Yours in sport
Tony,

It’s a show renowned for drawing in the biggest legends in the off-road scene, and the 2025 incarnation of the Classic Dirt Bike Show sponsored by Hagon is no different. Honda’s rst world MX champion Graham Noyce
As the rst Honda 500cc world motocross champion and a pivotal gure in the sport during the late 1970s and early 80s, Graham has well and truly etched his name in the MX history books.
His erce rivalries and unforgettable races have inspired a generation of motocross enthusiasts, with Hampshire-born Graham being the rst in a long line of world championship title winners for Honda.
Graham left school at 15 and went to work for Rickman Engineering, starting in the engineering department before moving to the development team. After starting his professional career on a Maico, he then signed for Honda in 1977 and went on to become world MX champion in 1979.
Visitors will have the chance to hear rst-hand accounts of his thrilling career as he takes to the stage with off-road icon John McCrink. John will be delving into the highs and lows of the star’s dedication to motocross, which promises to be a captivating insight into his unique story.
Two-time European champion Mick Andrews
In addition to his European championship titles in 1971 and 1972, achieved before the of cial world championships began in 1975, Mick is renowned for being one of the most successful riders in the history of the Scottish Six Days Trial. With ve victories in this iconic event over six years – three with Ossa and two with Yamaha –Mick also earned numerous additional top three nishes throughout his remarkable career.
Brought up in the Peak District, Mick spent his spare time riding off-road in Derbyshire and began winning awards at just 16. Following his successful career he gained a reputation as a skilled instructor, inspiring many more trials beginners and experts across the world.
Mick, an avid motocross rider in the early days of his career, will be a fantastic addition to chat with Graham at the event. Don’t miss the chance to see and hear these iconic trials and motocross stars on stage throughout the weekend as commentator John McCrink delves into their careers.
CLUB SOCIAL: THE HEART OF THE SHOW
WTB is now consultant to the FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) for its historical and heritage events.
Another long-standing club at the show in 2025 is the Triumph Tiger Cub and Terrier Register on stand F3 in the foyer. This is a club that really does what it says on the tin. It caters for all Terrier and Tiger Cub models starting in 1952, principally as that was the rst Terrier revealed at the Earls Court show of that same year. The register was set up (originally by Mike Estall) to preserve the history of the marque and to record known survivors of a popular Triumph motorcycle.
Do you like your scrambling served up early? Then the Pre65 Motocross Club is for you! The Pre65 Motocross Club is located in Essex.
This club specialises in running and organising classic motorcycle scrambles in the East of England, and preserving the classic era of scrambling/motocross. Pay the club a visit on its stand B37 in Hall 2 to check out the race calendar for 2025 dates. Even if you don’t have a bike, you can still enjoy every race as a spectator!
RIGHT: Trials... and, in some cases, tribulations.
BELOW: Down and dirty with the old school.
At the heart of any community are the people and groups that just make things happen. The classic off-road scene is no different and Telford has long been the place where these clubs get together. It’s not just about the bikes, the gear, the parts; it’s the social aspect. It’s a great time to meet like-minded people and immerse yourself in talking motocross, scrambling, trials, grass tracking, enduro and regaling the stories of days gone by. Thankfully, it’s not just all about the past; classic is big, really big, with young and old enjoying the hobby!
Here are just a few clubs showing their wares at the 2025 Classic Dirt Bike Show…
First up is The Works Trials Bikes owners’ group (WTB), a worldwide informal association linking riders, owners, historians and enthusiasts in the world of trials. The group will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the World Trials Championship with an exceptional display of three signi cant trials motorcycles: the unique 1970 Stag/Montesa prototype built by Don Smith; a 1979 works Montesa 349 which is exMalcolm Rathmell and the rst in production; lastly, a 1980 works Montesa 349 being showcased by none other than Yrjö Vesterinen and which proved to be his Scottish Six Day Trial winning bike. Check the group’s stand A46 in Hall 3 to view these spectacular bikes in all their glory.
PRIVATES ON PARADE
The winter months are always the perfect time to get in the garage and restore your pride and joy back to its former glory. What better way to showcase your hard work than taking your bike to the Classic Dirt Bike Show sponsored by Hagon? It’s rare to see the nest off-road machines from across the country gathered together in one place. From iconic motocross bikes to trials and speedway classics, the show features off-road machines from all eras, offering a nostalgic trip back to the track.
This fine example of a Honda CR250R from 1987 was originally bought partially restored and its current owner has now finished the superb restoration. This legendary motocross bike is known for its powerful two-stroke engine and remains a favourite among classic motocross enthusiasts for its iconic performance.
Here’s something you don’t see every day! The rst-ever Honda world championship-winning motocross bike, Graham Noyce’s 1979 RC500, will be displayed at the Classic Dirt Bike Show. At the end of 1978, Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) poured all its efforts into developing a bike capable of winning the prestigious world championship. Manufactured using the most advanced technologies and materials of the time, the RC500 is one of only two bikes in existence. The second bike, used as Noyce’s practice machine, is currently on display at HRC Japan. See it for yourself and discover more about this iconic bike at the show.
