Welcome to the show It hardly seems possible that we’re talking about the final UK Motorhome & Caravan Show of 2015… and what a year it’s been too! Shortly after the Spring weekend, Mortons Media Group announced it was to acquire the trio of events and now, here we are, set to deliver our second show. Time certainly does fly when you’re having fun. For this Autumn trip to Newark we’ve aimed to both match and maintain the high standards set previously, but also to add and expand various elements. We certainly have no intention of resting on our laurels. To that end, make sure you check out the revamped Food and Craft Hall. There’s plenty more going on, of course, and this programme should provide you all the information

Opening Hours Newark Air Museum is located on the former World War Two airfield of Winthorpe, adjacent to Newark Showground. Its diverse collection of 74 aircraft and cockpit sections cover the history of aviation. Extensive under-cover displays include two giant display halls that house more than 45 aircraft and helicopters. In addition to the aircraft, the museum displays a diverse range of aviation artefacts and a collection of more than thirty aero engines. On-site there is an excellent Café and an extensive Shop, which was once described as “An Aviation Enthusiasts Dream!” Each year the museum organises and hosts a diverse range of Special Event Days, details of which are regularly updated on the museum’s website. Open: Every day except December 24th, 25th & 26th & January 1st; November to February daily 1000 – 1600 hours; March to October daily 1000 – 1700 hours (including weekends & Bank Holidays).

Making a weekend of it A very warm welcome to those of you staying with us for the weekend, and we hope you’ve been successfully escorted to your camping pitch. We’re here to make sure your three nights here at Newark are enjoyable and relaxing, and so we’ve provided a range of facilities and services to ensure your every need is met…

Camping shop | located in the Food and Craft Hall, Manor Farm Shop will be selling fresh produce including meats, cheese, eggs, milk, fruit and vegetables during the main show opening times. Newspapers, toiletries and other related essentials will also be available. Event Information Centre and Event Control | members of the organising team will be on-hand to assist throughout the weekend, located at the Blue Gate. Gas sales | Calor gas canisters can be purchased from the Showground Works Yard near the Green Gate between 10am and 1pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Showers | on-site facilities can be utilised by campers and can be found close to the Red Gate, which is the entrance for campers. Washing service | a motorhome washing facility will be open to campers on arrival, with a polishing service in operation throughout the weekend. Weighing service | did you stop and get weighed on your way in? SvTech was offering campers the chance to check their weight on arrival, highlighting the need that motorhomes stay within the legal limits, and offering advice on the options available to ensure they do.

UK Autumn Motorhome & Caravan Show 2015 – Show Guide

LET US ENTERTAIN YOU On both Friday and Saturday nights, come and join us in the Cedric Hall Pavilion for two evenings of superb entertainment, sponsored by Park Resorts. Doors open at 7pm, with the action getting underway at 7.30pm. Don’t forget your wristband, you’ll need it to get in. Full details on all the acts, plus performance times, are on page 12! Please note too that due to regulations, capacity at the evening entertainment venue is limited, so make sure you get there early to avoid disappointment. Once the hall is full, we will be operating a ‘one in’, ‘one out’ system.

Explore Newark The show will once again be providing a courtesy shuttle bus service to allow our weekend campers to explore Newark town centre on Saturday and Sunday. Leaving from the Red Gate, the bus will depart every hour, on the hour, 10am-2pm, before returning from Newark town centre bus stop every hour, on the half-hour, 11.30am-3.30pm. We’ve also negotiated discount admission to Newark Air Museum, which is located just a short walk from the showground’s Red Gate. Make sure you’re wearing your wristband for access to the bus service, and use the voucher on page three of the programme for money-off entry to the museum. Historic Newark | The centre of the market town features many interesting buildings including the Grade I listed Church of St. Mary Magdalene and Newark Castle, which dates back to 1123.

Seeing all the different sections of the show, and maybe taking in a trip to Newark, will leave you ready to refuel with a spot of lunch and a refreshing beverage… Well, look no further than the excellent catering options provided at the venue. On offer will be the licensed bar and restaurant in the Cedric Hall Pavilion, the George Stephenson Exhibition Hall Bistro and a selection of mobile catering units…

Famed for its role in the English Civil War, the castle was a Royalist stronghold and became strategically vital owing to its riverside location. Further historical links make it worth a visit too; it is the place where King John died during the times of local folk hero, Robin Hood. Showgoers could also take in the Newark Civil War Trail, which covers several interesting locations. Newark Town Hall, which houses a museum and art gallery, is open Monday-Saturday, and shoppers can also head to the Buttermarket. Newark Air Museum | Pay a visit to the UK’s largest volunteer-managed aviation museum, which now houses 74 aircraft and cockpit sections. See the Lancaster Corner, explore missile avionic systems, view stunning aerial photography and follow the History of the Air Engineer, among other areas and exhibits.

The Food and Craft Hall Heeerrreee’s Johnny…

For our revamped Food and Craft Hall we’re delighted to have secured presentations from leading Nottinghamshire butcher Johnny Pusztai. He’ll be holding speciality sessions in the Lady Eastwood Hall, with lively and energetic demonstrations tailored for campers cooking from their motorhome, caravan or camper vans.

About Johnny | A passion for the highest quality food and traditional methods for its preparation is a legacy from Johnny’s Hungarian roots. His father, Dezso Pusztai, arrived in this country in 1956 as a refugee from the Hungarian uprising. Settling in Sherwood, he was amazed by the choice of meat, fruit and vegetables available, and soon built a small smoke house to cure and smoke his own bacons and gammons from which to make Hungarian salamis. The family would gather round the table at dinner to savour these, a tradition which Johnny continues to uphold with his family

today. His philosophy is that the kitchen is firmly at the heart of the home (and not the TV!) and that is where family and friends gather to talk and enjoy food together. It is clear Johnny sees the preparation and cooking of meat as something of an art form. In 1991, Johnny became the owner of JT Beedham & Sons, where he had done his apprenticeship, and continues to run the successful establishment today. With more than 25 varieties of sausage on offer alone, you get the sense this is a man who will always go the extra mile to get the details right. His Hungarian heritage is still

represented by Kolbasz – a spicy salami-type sausage, reminiscent of chorizo, containing pork and paprika. The exact recipe, however, is a closely guarded secret!

The Craft Studio About | Based in Nottingham, The Craft Studio boasts a delightful creative workshop space offering a wide range of contemporary craft classes suitable for all ages and abilities. It offers options for groups, with sessions tailored to participants, and has in the past hosted birthday parties, children’s parties, hen parties, team building events and baby showers. To make group visits even more special, a selection of sandwiches and homemade cakes can be served as part of a ‘Crafternoon Tea’. There is also a shop which stocks a range of craft books, handmade gifts, fabric, buttons, ribbon craft kits and more.

Manor Farm Shop A part of the Food and Craft Hall, Manor Farm Poultry, Shop and Garden Centre will be on stand LE28-31, showcasing its excellent produce to showgoers, as well as acting as the event’s campers shop. Based in Leasingham in nearby Lincolnshire, Manor Farm has an award-winning butchery department and will be selling a selection of incredible meats, along with eggs, cheese, milk, fruit, vegetables and other farm shop items. Open during the main show hours, newspapers, toiletries and a range of other camping essentials will be on sale for those staying at Newark for the weekend. World of Motorhomes and World of Caravans An Information Resource and Knowledge Pool

World of Motorhomes was established in 2003, followed a year later by World of Caravans. It created the first complete research tool, bringing together everything to do with Motorhomes and Caravans in one place. Both websites follow an easy to use format, based on Profile Pages written by ourselves for each and every company offering a product or service which is relevant to the use of Caravans or Motorhomes. Every company featured is personally known to the small team running the websites. Every Profile Page contains full contact details including a full postal address with postcode, telephone and fax numbers, email links and website links. Both Websites are Free to Use, with no membership required, although users can if they wish sign up for our regular email newsletters, which again are free.

We have attended around twenty Motorhome and Caravan Shows every year since 2004, where users of this Resource come and discuss their needs and requirements. From being involved face to face with fellow Caravanners and Motorhomers we increase ours and their Knowledge Pool regularly throughout the year. We frequently have Prize Draws on our show stands with useful items to be won to enhance your hobby and leisure lifestyle. Other competitions and Prize Draws are always to be found on the websites, together with regular news items and a facility to ask us if you are looking for a particular spare part, product or service. ATTENTION Campers! Come and join us for a party in the Cedric Ford Pavilion on both Friday and Saturday.

A popular circuit comedian, Scotty will be providing plenty of laughs. He does warmup for several hit TV shows including A Question of Sport, Alan Carr’s Chatty Man, Got to Dance and The Chris Moyles Show.

A well-known performer on the entertainment circuit, comedian Paul has worked alongside many of the UK’s leading names including Bobby Davro, Chas and Dave, Frank Carson and Jethro to name but a few. He brings a variety of talents to his fantastic act which he’s performed as studio warm-up for leading TV shows such as The X Factor, Dancing on Ice, Pointless and The Alan Titchmarsh Show.
