Caring Community PARTNERSHIPS For two years Mosaic has enjoyed a partnership with the confirmation group at St. Michael Lutheran Church. This wonderful group of youth, their leader, and parents have partnered

“The group has provided Halloween parties, Christmas Cards, and service projects. with those in service in many ways. The group has provided Halloween parties for those in service, hosted a Movie Night, sent Christmas cards to those in service, and organized a

combined service project to fill socks with toiletries. The partnership began with the planting of a raised garden bed together at St. Michael. Confirmation students and those in service at Mosaic painted the raised garden and planted the seeds. Weekly, a group from Mosaic arrives at St. Michael to tend to the garden. Our hope is to continue to grow this project and someday have a cooking class with the harvest. Thank you to Hannah deFreese and St. Michael for their dedication to Mosaic and the people we serve.

Caring Community TIERPOINT BANK The IT team at the Omaha TierPoint Bank provided an afternoon of service to one of our homes. It was a warm, muggy day and they worked outside diligently. They did yard work, plotted a garden, cleaned the patio area and

siding, and scraped the pergola, all with a great attitude! Some of the volunteers even stayed until 6 p.m. to help out at the home. We appreciate this group and the great service they provided to Mosaic.

Family/guardian survey brings high marks They like you, they really like you! Results from the family/guardian satisfaction survey are in! The Omaha Agency did very well in the areas of making a positive difference in the lives of those we support, the people we support feel safe with us, and we do a good job protecting and sharing information about rights of persons with developmental disabilities. Overall the families who responded to the survey feel satisfied with the services the Omaha agency provides and feel we meet their needs. We do have some areas to work on however, families would like us to improve in the areas of keeping them informed of staff changes, being more responsive to concerns of families, get people into the community more often and having more meaningful work for those we support. These are areas we have identified as needing improvement as well, which is why we are requiring activities in the community, monthly phone or email contact with families and guardians, our new contract with Mariana, and our employee engagement plans. The message was clear, we still have work to do in some areas. We appreciate all you that you do each and every day to provide a life of possibilities to those we support.

ALLPLAY Baseball Mosaic Thunder was the name of our baseball team which played with the ALLPLAY baseball league. The group played on Saturdays under the leadership of Cathy Sanchez (host home provider). They had a great time hitting the ball, running the bases, scoring, and taking part in the extracurricular activities that were planned at the ballpark on a weekly basis. They also enjoyed an end-of-the-year pizza party to celebrate and present participant medals. If you would like to volunteer to assist with this league in the future, please contact Kelli Joseph at kelli.joseph@mosaicinfo.org.

A life of possibilities for people with intellectual disabilities.

Meaningful Life Chris is served by Mosaic. His dream was to go to New York City and be on Good Morning America. He arrived with his family and staff in New York on June 15. With assistance from a generous donor, Chris and his group received a tour on the set of Good Morning America. He was thrilled to meet the stars and have a photo opportunity with them. Chris also tasted his first New York hot dog and New York pizza. After speaking with mounted police, he was presented with official police patches. What a wonderful opportunity for Chris!
