Each week, they’ll explore a different theme, like nature and the outdoors, bays and oceans, bugs and animals, or musical play that incorporates instruments, singing, dancing, and live storytelling. And in the heat of the summer, they’ll get to cool off in wading pools and sprinklers on MB’s campus.

July 16–20 or July 23–27 or July 30–August 3 Half-day: 8:45–11:30 a.m.

Give your budding inventor the chance to design, experiment, and dream up new ideas! DownCity Design’s Inventor Studio offers campers ages 8-11 a fun introduction to the process that designers and inventors use to create products that solve problems and make the world a better place. Through hands-on design challenges, students will develop confidence and practice STEAM skills while learning to innovate, communicate their ideas, and work as part of a team. Each week, campers are presented with a real community need, and work together to imagine something they could create to meet that need. With the guidance of our experienced Design Educators, they’ll sketch their ideas, experiment with new materials as they prototype and test their concepts, get feedback to make their designs stronger, and present their final pitch. There will be a brand new design challenge to tackle each week, so campers can participate in multiple sessions and continue to develop new skills. DownCity Design is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the city of Providence by getting young people involved in building our future. We help youth become change-makers by inviting them to design solutions for their communities. To learn more about our programs, please visit downcitydesign.org

Children enjoy the use of all facilities, including the state-of-the-art artificial turf field, soccer field, softball diamond, woodshop, ceramic studio, computer labs, Y-lab, and performance halls.

About MB Camps

Moses Brown has offered rewarding and exciting summer programs for more than 50 years. Moses Brown is a Quaker school, and many of the traditions and values that are a part of the Friends’ philosophy find expression in our camps. All camp programs work with the basic belief that everyone matters and has something to offer, silence matters, and truth matters. Reflection and consensus are important, simplicity is valued, and differences and diversity are celebrated. Our campers hail from a variety of places, with the majority coming from surrounding communities in Rhode Island and southeastern New England. We also have welcomed campers from across the country, and from as far away as Austria, China, the Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, and Venezuela.
