‘DANCE AUDITORIUM ‘2016 AUG
For this project, I have been thinking about how to design an auditorium. At first I start from looking images of people dancing. I have tried the style from Henri Matisse and use a string to create outlines and then to restructure it with different shapes. The top view of the Dancing auditorium is simply a form of a person dancing. Which makes the it to become a direct message of what the auditorium is for. From the process of taking the photos of the model, I found that there are interesting shadows are created with the reflection of transparent plastics. People can simply see different materials are used with just seeing the shadows.

Good and Evil Medium : Acrylic and Pastel on Canvas Size : 810mm x 1020mm (32x40) strokes inspiration from Van Gogh and Pointilisim
In this artwork, I wanted to show what human is doing around us in the society as it is one of the expressions of humanity. As humanity is an abstract thing. I took out two of the explanation, good and evil to be the topic. What is good and what is bad, I should add objects or incidents to make Good and Evil being materialize. I used this artwork to identify the good thing of human and the evil of human, such as love, family donating, helping each other and teamwork are representing the good side of human. The bad side is about war, making pollution, killing, steal- ing etc ... So on I should make a contrast between the good and evil with color scheme, strokes and texture to make the good side and evil side much difference.

Nature and by nature
Chinese Wood Block
by Ching Kei Moses Ma
Chinese Wood Block is inspired by the design elements of Chinese and Japanese culture on interior design. Using simplicity and considering the most easiest way to get the use of a furniture. In Chinese culture, circle means “perfect” and square means “rules and laws”. The reason both elements are used is because of I want to tell people about “One can’t achieve greatness without following rules and laws.” For the legs of the woodblocks, it is just like steps, which is the meaning of telling people to work hard to step higher to achieve something we wanted. Symmetry of the cabinet is also altering the feeling balance of geometric shapes combined together. Which makes to be more neat to be seen. The tree blocks combing together will see there are empty spaces between blocks and blocks which giving comfy feeling and flow aroundthe air and spaces. While blocks can be seperated, it can be assemble as a tall cabinet or a short tea table, to fit on the space you are in and to exert the greatest possibilities to functional. For the materials, I would like to use teak wood to emphasies on the connection of nauture and air around us. Materials -Teak Wood 3 blocks (400mmx400mm) -12 wood legs polished in white (140mmx140mm) Total estimated cost : 500 pounds

Development I started this project as I went to Victoria and Albert Museum. I saw there are quite a lot of useful research such as “Table=Chest”, it let me to think about to have multiple purposes for a furniture design. Then I started to combine the functional with Chinese culture as it is strongly related to the Victorian Times. Thomas Chippendale, one of the leading furniture designer had designed Chinese painted furniture to relate to the nature
Chinese furniture always take nature as one of the design elements, always using flowers to create a strong relationship be-
and empty space flowing through the
tween wood to let people to feel the nature even inside of a space. Also there are a lot of geometrical shapes and symmetry to
area. Then I started to search the ele-
illustrated as “stable” furniture. The last photo “Table= Chest” inspired me to try make things “all in one”. Which I think it suits
ment of Chinese culture.
the situation in the guest house (Chelsea College of Arts) since it is quite small and densed.
