24/7 Youth Film Festival AIMS
The festival challenges young people to express and explore their culture through the art of film. •
Skills young people in the various components of film making through a series of free workshops. •
Challenges young people to put their talents, creativity, organisational and team work skills into practice through the production of a short film. • The Festival is now in its 9th year. •

24/7 Youth Film Festival What is it?
The festival comprises several different aspects; • A series of FREE skills workshops . • The film competition where you have 24 hours to make a 7 minute film. • Judging and screening of selected films – and PRIZES!
Who can enter?
Young people aged 12 – 24 years of age. All you need is some friends and a camera!

24/7 Youth Film Festival The Film Competition
• You will have 24 hours to make a < 7 minute film. • You must include numerous items in the film that are only revealed at the beginning of the 24 hour period, five of which must appear in the film, including one from each category; •These include; – – – –
4 Locations (one in each Council area) 3 Objects 3 Concepts 3 Catch Phrases
• A Secret Rule that must appear in every film – eg 2007 a word or phrase in a foreign language, 2008 a phrase had to be sung. •These will only be revealed at the end of the Competition Briefing. You then have 24 hours to get your films in! DO NOT BE LATE! This is from go to whoa [or rather ‘Action’ to ‘Cut’] – scripting, site location, story boards, rehearsal, lighting, acting, music, filming, editing at the end of the 24 hour period a completed film, in the correct format (AVI or MOV file, handed in on the USB device provided to your team), must be handed in on time at one of the drop off points. BUT – you can prepare beforehand – eg loose script or story ideas.

COST ?– It is $50 per Team to enter – payable at the Briefing launch. BUT… if member/s of your Team have attended each of the workshops – It’s FREE!!! MUSIC - The only music films can contain must either be taken from the 24/7 CD library, from bands/individuals having approved use of their material for 24/7 or be music that the film team holds the copyright for. nEW soUrCE! – WWW.istoCkphoto.Com has mUsiC availablE For UsE – For a small ChargE. ($3-12) Any film teams partaking in unlawful, irresponsible, dangerous or anti-social behaviour or stunts (including ‘Jackass' style films) will be immediately disqualified and organisers take no responsibility for their actions, damages or consequences!
