Lens of the Youth Competition Winner! To coincide with National Youth Week Mosman Library encouraged young people to express their creative talents by capturing images of the things that have meaning to them.

The entries were uploaded to Flickr and exhibited in the Mosman Library Teen Zone throughout National Youth Week. The competition was judged by Hans Lignell, president of the Mosman Camera Club and the winners were announced on the Wired 4 Teens blog during Library and Information Week. First Place went to Jocelyn Copan for I don’t want to feel no more and Second Place went to Eva Kiss for Taking the love. Viewers Choice went to Sam Cousins for Dunbar and Cam.

Hans was impressed with the standard of work in the competition: “Overall I felt that the standard of the images was outstanding and it was refreshing to see a totally different perspective on what could have been some simple shots”.

Alycia, the new Youth Librarian started at Mosman Library in May.

Events for Winter Mosman Youth Awards in Literature
Book Week - Traveling Pants The return of the Traveling Pants to Mosman Library during Book Week this year.
2010 was the 18th Annual Mosman Youth Awards in Literature where Mosman Library encourages young people to enter prose and poetry.
Tuesday 24th August @ 4pm Decorate the pants at the library to celebrate National book Week and to let all of NSW know what makes Mosman a great place to be.
Thursday 19th August Presentation of the winners of the Mosman Youth Awards in Literature will be at the Mosman Youth Development Centre
Drug Action Week 20th - 26th June 2010 Drug Action Week is coming up again in June this year and it’s a great opportunity to learn more about drugs and alcohol, staying safe and how they might affect your mental and physical health. Infocus for HSC students A collection that you might not know about is the Infocus collection housed in the Reference Library in the filing cabinet next to the Reference Desk (just ask our friendly staff). Items in the Infocus collection are sourced from the vast collec-
tions of the State Reference and Mitchell Libraries especially for their HSC-related content. These items are drawn from Australian and international sources, often hard to locate without visiting the State Library of New South Wales and copyright
