New Manga Appr ecia tion Society! Mosman Library is pairing up with SMASH! to provide a monthly meetup for manga enthusiasts here at Mosman Library! We’ll meet in the Teen Zone on the third Tuesday of each month at 6pm and the Library will provide snacks and drinks to keep you going!

Tuesday 19 October @ 6pm Theme: Supernatural

Tuesday 16 November @ 6pm Theme: Belonging

Supernatural manga involves things unexplained by science. Phenomena’s, mythical creatures such as vampires and werewolves and secret magic societies.

Whether it’s fitting in with the local high school group or being a proud member of manga-fans-are-I, belonging can affect your own sense of identity, which will be explored in this meet up.

‘Meltdown’ - Andy McNab

‘Slam’ - Nick Hornby

By Ross Lisle, 13

By Alycia Bailey

Danny is a teen, a teenage soldier and is a part of the MI5 secret service. He is in a battle to destroy a drug made by a supervillain.

Slam is a confronting story about teen pregnancy from the point of view of Sam, a skateboarding 15-year-old. The book is touching and honest.
