Many criminal activities and crimes take place in cities and proper reporting of the crimes to the police force is important to get hold of the criminals. An efficient system of timely reporting of crime helps the police department to take action immediately. To enable police officials to get crime reports faster and in an efficient manner, this department is turning to digitization with the assistance of document conversion services. With rising crime and corruption, improving efficiency in police workforce has become a necessity. Digitizing vital police records will improve the efficiency of the system. Digitizing can also give various advantages such as reducing old file work, maintaining detailed description of
crimes, ease of communication between common people and police, efficient
access of criminal details, ease of police work etc. From social media information to traffic reports, and public records to informant tips, the law enforcement industry has access to a substantial amount of data. Some of the police records are:
Arrest reports: These include reports on details about the arrest made by the police.
Crime or incident reports: These are reports about police responses to citizen calls for assistance, reports of accidents or reports of crimes being committed.
Jail and bail records: Records providing details about persons who are held in jail and records of people who have been released on bail.
Arrest warrants: An arrest warrant will have details such as the defendant’s name, a narrative description of the crime, the amount of bail and the court in which the warrant was issued.
Arrest logs: These have the names and addresses of people arrested by police officers, where they were arrested and other details about the circumstances of the arrests and the people arrested
Incident logs: These record a list of citizen calls for assistance, accidents, investigation and crimes. Also included are details on the circumstances of the calls and also about incidents reported to police.
Once these data are converted into digital format, it can be used to drive insights. Advanced software can easily and efficiently sort through large data sets, link associates and friends, and paint the bigger picture. Combining data management software with a skilled analyst, investigator, or officer ensures success in crime-fighting. These data can be saved in cloud storage system so that any police personnel can access the required data from anywhere. The data can also be encrypted to prevent it from going into the wrong hands.

the

along
with
St.

and
the
Grenadines introduced Police Records Management Information System (PRMIS) to improve data management and analysis and this project will be piloted at the Questelle and Williams Street police stations. This digitization process will strengthen police response to minimize crime using measures such as geo-mapping; and victim and offender profiling. PRMIS uses a standardized crime and violence data resource to improve evidence-based policy and programming across nine eastern and southern Caribbean countries, including St. Vincent and the Grenadines. These countries can make use of this advanced software that allows cross-country comparisons and generates good quality data that supports cohesive regional crime strategies and responses. At the launch of PRMIS, US Ambassador to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean, and the OECS, Linda Taglialatela stated that this new system will give the police force 21st century policing tools to tackle 21st century crime. It also has the ability to generate victim and offender profiling that will help with a faster police response and effective evidence-based decisions. With digitization of police records, the police force can report the crime at the earliest and also attend to the crime thus making a city much safer. With the help of a data conversion service provider, the police system can have a better and more efficient solution for convenient scanning and digital conversion.
