6F=HG 65HH@9 :CF HCD C: H<9 H56@9 Eugene Laverty was the only rider capable of matching the blistering pace of Crutchlow until excessive front tyre wear and an uncooperative Fabien Foret saw him drop to fourth at the finish. But the Parkalgar Honda rider is still second in the championship standings, 18 points behind Crutchlow. He said: ‘Foret wasn’t riding a very smart race, because otherwise I feel I could have gone with Cal. At the end my front was folding a lot which is why I dropped to fourth. I had a pretty big slide at the Parabolica and I nearly ran off the track because it took me that long to get the bike back up on my knee. I could hear the fairing scraping on the ground so it was pretty well down.”
Kiyo repeated his 2008 Monza podium but went one better with two third places to get his Ten Kate Honda team back on the podium for the first time in 2009. Expect fireworks from him now.
CAL CRUTCHLOW Sublime performance from the 22-year-old Brit who dominated the later stages of the race to take his second win of the year. He enjoys an 18-point lead in the standings and appears unstoppable.

Shakey’s hopes of kickstarting his WSB season fell flat after technical problems wrecked his qualifying and races. Despite winning the Italian Superbike race at the track a week before, Shakey could only scrape 14th and 18th.
