NOVEMBER 2021 BIKE OF THE MONTH

EDITOR’S NOTE: I was surfing the social media outlets when I saw this motorcycle. I responded to the post and Tico was happy to share this unrestored, if slightly molested Bridgestone with us. Somewhere along in it’s life it has had the exhaust and chrome tank panels painted black. Otherwise, it wears it’s original design quite well. We hope you enjoy looking at it. 1965 Bridgestone Super 7 Surfrider Hello, my name is Tico Petrosian and I am the proud owner of a 1965 Bridgestone Super 7 Surfrider motorcycle. This is a 2-stroke, rotary valve motorcycle with 90cc displacement. The 1965 Bridgestone Super 7 Surfrider came equipped with a 4-speed transmission and an electric start which was a rare feature during the time. The styling of this Bridgestone Super 7 Surfrider is comparable to other highly popular Japanese motorcycles at the time, especially the Honda Dream CA 77 & CA72. The Bridgestone Super 7 Surfrider featured all the hottest styling ques including valanced fairings, chrome tank with tank pads and the covered chain guard. These were just a few of it’s unique touches. What makes the Bridgestone Super 7 unique are the integrated front turn signals, the flush mount rear turn signals, a speedometer, and the art deco engine covers. It was a blend of traditional and futuristic styling. I purchased the bike from the second owner who had owned it for 30 years. He taught his children and grandchildren how to ride on this bike. I decided to keep the bike with the original patina – they are only original once. The bike is complete minus one rear turn signal lens. I hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I’ve enjoyed owning it, Tico. WWW.MOTORCYCLETIMES.COM
