WONTHAGGI WRAP UP

The Penrite ProMX Championship, presented by AMX Superstores (ProMX) will explode into action for round two of the series on Sunday May 2nd at the ACT Motocross Track. Race fans in the region are thrilled to welcome back national Motocross action to the nation’s capital and a record crowd is anticipated to witness the debut of the inaugural ProMX Championship in the ACT.

With many statement rides from competitors at the opening round at Wonthaggi and even more questions left unanswered in regards to the incredible depth of the classes in this years ProMX Championship, there are numerous riders who will use Canberra as a springboard to get their championships back on track and prove that they belong at the top of the podium when the chequered flag flies on Sunday. The opening round to the ProMX Championship, took place at Wonthaggi, Victoria on Sunday April 11th and was heralded as a unanimous success from the motocross industry, riders and fans alike. In extremely challenging weather that saw deluges of rain, wind and cold temperatures, the track held up incredibly well and withstood inclement weather to produce a world class race track that evolved throughout the race day presenting riders with an extremely technical challenge.

Thousands of race fans flocked to the Wonthaggi circuit to witness the new era in Australian national motocross and were treated to incredible trackside action along with fantastic sponsor activations and entertainment throughout the trade alley displays and race team pits.

With incredible victories from Regan Duffy in THOR MX1, Kyle Webster in Pirelli MX2 and Ryder Kingsford in Maxxis MX3, the Championship stories are now set in motion, with riders and teams hungry to use round one as a base to improve their performances and challenge for the win this weekend in Canberra.
