2022 Championship Preview
The Penrite ProMX Championship, presented by AMX Superstores (ProMX) will bring explosive on track action to Wonthaggi, Vic, for the opening of the Championship on Sunday March 27th.
A record crowd is expected for the event to witness a display of multi-generational talent with the current superstars of today on track in THOR MX1 and Pirelli MX2, with the next generation of talent in Australian Motocross competing in Maxxis MX3.
In THOR MX1, the premier racing class on 450cc Machines, a battle royale is set to take place between defending 2021 Champion Luke Clout and a long list of competitors eager to test the defending champions intentions for the 2022 season. Most notably, we see the return of former 3 time THOR MX1 class champion Dean Ferris to challenge Clout for the crown in 2022.
Pirelli MX2 sees the return of former Champion Wilson Todd after his international foray in the MXGP Championship. Race fans and industry people alike are eager to see MX2 veteran Wilson Todd square off against old rivals including and up and coming talent such as graduating Maxxis MX3 class Champion Blake Fox.
As always, the Maxxis MX3 class will debut a whole new generation of Australian Motocross talent

to the world. Expect to see high paced action and dramatic finishes as the junior and freshly turned senior racers do battle to establish their professional racing credentials.
The fast and sandy confines of the Wonthaggi circuit will not disappoint in providing great racing and possible championship upsets from the get go. A long start and huge flat track first corner sets the tone for one of the roughest and least forgiving race tracks for bike and rider in Australia.
Last year thousands of race fans witnessed incredible victories from Regan Duffy in THOR MX1, Kyle Webster in Pirelli MX2 and Ryder Kingsford in Maxxis MX3 in some of the most challenging weather conditions in recent memory.

The stage is now set for an all out battle for the win at Wonthaggi, where the riders will find it crucial to establish their dominance over the rest of the field early and gain confidence and momentum for the 2022 Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores.
The emerging MXW Championship will also receive a boost in 2022 with the recent EZILIFT partnership. Consisting of a multi-year program that will see the brand grow and encourage more female racers with Motorcycling Australia and ProMX and commit to racing in the WMX class at a national level in 2022 and beyond.
