Best for music education

In 2022, Mounds View Public Schools earned the Best Communities for Music Education designation for the 10th year in a row. The designation honors districts that demonstrate exceptional efforts towards maintaining music education as part of the core curriculum.

Best High Schools

Both high schools are consistently recognized among the top high schools in the nation on the U.S. News & World Report list of “Best High Schools.” Irondale and Mounds View were both ranked among the best in the nation for exceeding expectations when it comes to student performance on reading and math tests, and for preparing students for college in 2022.

ACT outpaces state

For the 15th consecutive year, high school students earned an average ACT score (21.9) that surpasses both the Minnesota average (21.0) and the national average (19.8). This is especially noteworthy considering 99% of all juniors take the exam.

National Merit Top 10

Mounds View Public Schools ranked among the top 10 districts in the state for the most 2023 National Merit Scholarship semifinalists, with a total of 14 students between Irondale and Mounds View.
