May 25

Weston’s Annual Memorial Day Parade will take place from 10 a.m. to noon

The Mountaineer Military Museum will host the Global War on Terror monument unveiling from noon to 4 p.m. The museum is located at 345 Center Ave., Weston.

May 26

The 26th annual Roanoke reunion is set for 10 a.m. at the Stonewall Resort Ballroom with lunch at noon. Please bring a covered dish to share with everyone. There is no charge for the event.

June 1

The inaugural Upshur County Recreation Complex Golf Tournament will take place at 2 p.m. with check-in at 1 p.m. at the Buckhannon Country Club Golf Course. To register, go to www.ucrcwv.ord and select fundraisers and current fundraisers. The tournament will benefit the Upshur County Recreation Complex. All donations are tax deductible.

LCHS Class of 1999 will host its 20-year reunion at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 29 at Blue’s, 113 Circle Drive, Weston. Dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m.

The cost per plate is $15, collected at the door, and will include baked steak, salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, rolls, tea, and water. A cash bar will be available. Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tallmansville, Upshur County.

Trustees of Mt. Carmel Cemetery set New Rules and regulations . Request all floral Tributes to be placed close to the monuments and markers so they do not obstruct the mowing of graves. No stones or enclosures such as brick, landscaping beams or wire fences are to be built. No graves are to be opened unless Trustee is notified. All foot stones must be ground level. No trees or shrubs are to be planted on lots. People with lots they do not intend to use are asked to please notify one of the trustees. The Cemetery trustees will not be responsible for damage, theft. loss of monuments, markers, floral tributes ect. The trustees are NOT responsible for accidents or injuries occurring in or on Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Shelter and seating will be provided but you may enjoy sitting in your own lawn chair so feel free to bring it along. Refreshments will be available. There is no admission charge.
