Minors Requirements Minors can only be declared in baccalaureate degree programs and outside the major field of study. The following are required when declaring a minor in baccalaureate degree programs: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.

a minor program contains a minimum of eighteen (18) credits, determined by the department offering the minor. Half of those credits must be earned at Mount Aloysius College while matriculated in a bachelor's degree program; the minor must be declared by the student and approved by the department in which the minor is to be earned. This declaration and approval must be completed prior to beginning the senior year; students may complete more than one minor; the student must earn a minimum grade of "C" in each required course if the minor is to be reflected on the transcript. fields of study which do not currently offer a major may offer a minor; the student's advisor in his/her major must grant approval for the minor; the student will declare the minor on a form in the Registrar's Office; and a minimum of 50 percent of the credits in a minor must be unique to that minor when compared to a student's major(s), other minor(s), specialization or concentration.

Accounting Minor Mount Aloysius graduates with a minor in Accounting will possess and be able to: 1. Knowledge of the accounting cycle; 2. Compose financial statements; 3. Evaluate financial results expressed through relevant data presented in the financial statements; 4. Prepare federal individual tax returns; and 5. Demonstrate accounting skills to enter the workforce.
