We are led by a Board of Directors who are all volunteers and elected by our members to represent them to lead our organisation. Each Director is expected to undertake annual training and education as well as take corporate and personal responsibility for decisions made.
PROFIT FOR PURPOSE
Our Board of Directors are committed to ensuring that all the profit we generate is used to improve services or facilities for our Members and to improve the lives of our members.
This is evident by the significant support to local organisations, and community members through the investment in the ClubGRANTS program across Fairfield, Liverpool, the Northern Beaches and the Central Coast. In addition to this, they also provide support to the community through other means, including donations, sponsorships, community partnerships and events, sports, sub club and social inclusion programs – all aimed at improving the lives of our Members and the local communities.

To help support the crippled entertainment industry after the COVID-19 shutdown, we embarked on the LIVE & LOCAL campaign which focused on our local musicians, those who were local to our community and had been hit hardest by the lockdown. Providing our members with free live entertainment by local artists every Friday and Saturday night.
MOUNTIES CARE HOME CARE Mounties Group listened to our members and understood that as our membership ages, their needs change. Mounties Care Home Care supports the health, wellbeing and independence of our Members, long after they can no longer attend our Club venues. From companionship to nursing services and all the way to chemotherapy and end of life care, we want to keep or members living in their own homes and as part of our community for longer and in more positive ways.

STRUGGLING WITH MENTAL HEALTH THE COMMUNITY
Harbord Diggers is thrilled to be able to support Be Centre Foundation who are, through Play Therapy, helping kids under 12 who are struggling with emotional, behavioural, psychological and social issues.
Play Therapy is increasingly being recognised as one of the most effective forms of therapy for children aged 3-12
As part of the ClubGRANTS scheme, Harbord Diggers has stepped in with an DIGGERS HELPS CHILDREN
years as it engages children via their natural language of play. Children play out their inner and real-life experiences in a way that builds insight and capacity, and enables them to express, regulate, communicate, and master new skills and emotional responses better.
$8,000 grant that will enable five at-risk local children access to Play Therapy sessions over a 12-week period, as well as counselling sessions for their parents and carers.
Be Centre Foundation’s program, Hear Me Play, is a community-based project supporting children who have had difficult experiences such as abuse, neglect, domestic violence, bullying, parental separation, health issues, and/or natural disasters.
“Our program objectives are to reduce the number of emotional, hyperactive, peer and behavioural problems identified, and enable children to build coping skills and resilience so they can become thriving teenagers and beyond” said Michelle Carlyle, Chief Executive Officer of the Be Centre Foundation.
“Through the program, each child receives 12 weekly child-led Play Therapy sessions with a dedicated therapist, enabling them to express themselves within safe boundaries, and helping them to process their past or current experiences.
“We also provide tailored parent counselling and support to enhance each child’s recovery during and beyond the program,” she added.
While the Northern Beaches is an affluent region with high socio-economic advantages, there are a significant number of children living locally identified as being socially or emotionally vulnerable.
“1 in 10 children living on the Northern Beaches are affected by mental illness. No matter what region we are talking about, this number is unacceptable” she continued.
“The one-to-one early intervention Play Therapy program equips each child with the tools necessary to build resilience and strong emotional health strategies” concluded Michelle.
In total, the 2022 ClubGRANTS program across Mounties Group’s three club areas will see the organisation give back almost $1.2 million to more than 75 projects across sport and recreation, medical and health, arts and culture, mental health, education and essential community support.
ClubGRANTS is just one of the many ways Mounties Group is proactive in providing support, services and facilities for the betterment of our local community. Harbord Diggers is thrilled to support this worthy local cause for its 2022 ClubGRANTS scheme.
