Find an Apartment in 5 Simple Steps Are you new to the city of Dubai? Or maybe you are moving to a different neighbourhood?
Whatever
the
reason is, it sure takes a good deal of time and patience to find the perfect apartment for rent. But, yes, before you sign on the dotted line, there are a few things you need to keep in mind so as to get the best deal possible.
1. First and foremost, settle on how much you can spend each month for your rentals i.e. decide on a budget. Be sure to include utilities. The area you have chosen could be more expensive or cheaper than your current residency and you need to pay attention to the minutest of details. 2. You can search either in newspaper ads or you can do it online. Craigslist could be your best friend when it comes to searching for a flat in Dubai. You can choose by either picking up a city, a budget, the number of
bedrooms, facilities and amenities like parking, shopping, acceptable pet guidelines and policies, proximity of public transportation, safety and security, etc. 3. Once you have figured out which locality and flat suits you make sure you consult a rental broker. Finding apartments for rent in Dubai becomes a lot easier via agents. They will give you an estimate about the charges and an approximate date as to when you can move in. If the time frame doesn’t suit you, it is best to search for newer flats. 4. Explore the apartment thoroughly and don't be duped by the exteriors. Look for signs of bad construction around doors and windows, beneath the sinks, ceiling, and the other appliances that are to come inbuilt with the apartment. If you find any form of rust, moulds, leaks, pest, ensure that you let your landlord know and make the payments accordingly. 5. If possible do visit at night. Even if you find the community gated, you can always see how well-lit the roads and complexes are, whether the parking lot is crowded, and whether the neighbourhood is friendly and easy to talk to. Remember, your apartment will be your home for the next year or even more, and obviously you would want to make certain it meets most, if not all, of your needs and requirements. If not, you will only end up repenting your move. Thus, before you sign a lease agreement, take the time to consider the above basic steps and make your stay a pleasant one.
