Why climate neutral Counter climate change 

Paris Climate Agreement 2015 – Keep global warming to max 2 degrees – Complete stop of GHG emissions (CO2, methane and nitrous oxide) in 2050

Dutch National Climate Agreement in 2019 – Negotiations at five sectorial round tables

Coalition Agreement of Amsterdam 2018

What we have to do in Amsterdam

CO2

Free of natural gas in 2040

Emission free mobility in 2030.

55% CO2 reduction till 2050 95% CO2 reduction till 2050

250 MW from sun in 2022 and maximum use of wind potential 17-6-2019

Climate fund € 350 million / 4 years  Goal: stimulate the energy transition and make it possible  Elaborate financial strategy per transition path  Research costs  Preparation & collaboration costs  Realisation costs

 Requests based on business cases  Determined (in)direct CO2 reduction  Determined costs and benefits of the investments  Search for several funds required

Dialogue with the city

Collect, accelerate, re-inforce, connect

Reflection on the role of the public sector

Investigate barriers and remove them

Celebrate successes and amplify them
