Wonder Woman became the highest-grossing female-led superhero movie of all-time, so fans will be thrilled to see director Patty Jenkins returning with Gal Gadot for the hotly-anticipated sequel. Co-starring Pedro Pascal, Kristen Wiig, and Chris Pine, Wonder Woman 1984 promises to deliver all of the heart and charm from their first outing but on a much larger, and more action-packed, scale. While their main narrative remains in some sort of stasis, the DCEU standalone projects continue to receive critical and commercial success. Following Joker and the bonkers fun of Birds Of Prey - and with the MCU on an Endgame comedown - for the first time in a long time, perhaps it’s DC that’s the superhero franchise to be most excited about.
