IN CINEMAS 31 MARCH

Directors John Francis Daley, Jonathan Goldstein / Starring Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, Hugh Grant / Genre Action, Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy

Bringing beloved D&D fantasies from game board to the big screen, the film tells the tale of Edgin the Bard, a charming rogue, master planner, and occasional lute player – played by Chris Pine – who assembles a ragtag group of fellow misfits for a heist of epic proportions.

The party of thieves he picks includes Michelle Rodriguez’ Holga, Regé-Jean Page’s Xenk, and Justice Smith’s Simon – Barbarian, Paladin, and Sorcerer respectively. Sophia Lillis’ Doric, a shapeshifting Druid, also makes the cut, and they’re very glad to have her Owlbear on their

side. Unfortunately, in the process of retrieving a powerful lost relic from the clutches of evil, they help the wrong person steal the wrong thing and unleash a far greater peril onto the Forgotten Realms.

To make things right, they must face dragons, red and black alike; deal with Hugh Grant’s enigmatic Forge, who can’t be trusted as far as he’s thrown; and fight powerful, villainous Red Wizards, who seek deadly revenge.

With a wicked tongue-and-cheek comedic tone, the film promises to be lots of fun, too, whether through the terrific camaraderie our party share or the assortment of weird and wonderful mythical beings they meet on their adventure.

In an expansive world where the only limit is your imagination, each character begins their own individual,

often hilarious campaign to explore the Forgotten Realms and discover the hero within. Can there be honour among these thieves?

All Creatures Great ‘n’ Small

Directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein conjure a film that appeals to both die-hard D&D fans and those who’ve never rolled a die in anger. Previous knowledge isn’t required, but a little know-how won’t hurt…so as you assemble your party for this comic fantasy adventure, we’ll give you a quick guide to some of the monsters and magical creatures you’ll encounter.

Dragons

A fantasy adventure staple. Here, different coloured dragons have unique traits of their own, though the risk of game over is high with them all.

Mimic

Amorphous predators adept at hiding in plain sight as chairs, chests, and other common objects ready to attack unsuspecting parties. Nothing in this world can be trusted.

Gelatinous Cube

A semi-transparent monster provides the perfect cover for all sorts of schemes, but be sure you don’t linger – their ooze digests organic matter!

Displacer Beast

Fantastic cat-like beasts, but you’ll have little chance of spotting one due to their remarkable powers of spatial illusion. Their name derives from their unique ability to displace light and appear somewhere they are not.

Owlbear

Part-owl, part-bear, this feathered weapon of mass destruction is among the most feared predators in all of the Forgotten Realms.

Earth All Along!

WORDS ROBB SHEPPARD

IN CINEMAS 10 MARCH

Directors Scott Beck, Bryan Woods

65 /

Starring Adam Driver, Ariana Greenblatt / Genre Sci-Fi, Thriller

After crashlanding on an uncharted planet and losing all but one of his human cargo, Adam Driver’s spaceman, Mills, strives to survive on a strangely familiar planet. He soon founds out the hard way that this isn’t an alien world, but a prehistoric Earth that makes Jurassic Park look like a playground.

65 is born from the brains of Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, the writers of smash-hit sci-fi horror A Quiet Place, so you can count on some serious jump scares and the sort of tension you can cut with a T-Rex tooth. 65 is also produced by Sam Raimi, of The Evil Dead and Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness fame, a cinema legend who knows horror like the back of his hand.

It’s sure to be a blast to see Adam Driver go back to a long time ago, but in a galaxy not too far away as the Star Wars saga’s star now faces prehistoric predators on a more familiar patch. Starring alongside him as the only other survivor from the wreckage is Ariana Greenblatt, who previously played young Gamora in Avengers: Infinity War, and her performance looks set to catapult the young star into the stratosphere. Get ready as past and future collide in a sci-fi spectacle millions of years in the making.

Planet Of The Apes

The 1968 sci-fi classic delivers the “this is Earth” plottwist like a punch to the gut, just when astronaut George Taylor thought he had the upper hand over those damn, dirty apes.

Doctor Who

Long before David Tennant and Ncuti Gatwa, The Trial Of A Time Lord saw Colin Baker’s Doctor facing punishment lightyears from home. He quickly discovers that he’s on Earth, but the planet has been shunted across the galaxy.

After Earth

Spaceboys Will and Jaden Smith crash on a dangerous planet, only to discover that it’s Earth, one-thousand years after being abandoned by humanity. Unusually, M. Night Shyamalan favoured spectacle over secrecy, revealing the twist in the trailer, but not lessening its impact onscreen.

Searching for a new world and the survival of the human race, one astronaut finds himself somehow stranded on an Earth millions of years in the past.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3

IN CINEMAS 5 MAY

Director James Gunn / Starring Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Zoe Saldaña, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Will Poulter / Genre Action, Adventure, Comedy, Sci-Fi

Star-Lord, Rocket, Drax, Groot, Nebula, and Mantis are back, but everything is about to change for Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy.

The third volume of their spacebased misadventures shakes-up the established line-up we’ve grown to love and also marks director James Gunn’s final film before he skirts off to head up all things DC. How or why the team will disband remains a mystery, but we do know that the stakes have been exponentially raised as Peter Quill searches the stars for his lost love Gamora and Rocket’s past comes back to haunt him.

The disparate headspace of the team is undoubtedly not helped by the emergence of The High Evolutionary, a different type of villain whose genetic experimentation is questionable to say the least. Quill and crew must complete one last mission in order to try and prevent his grand masterplan, all whilst fending off artificially-bred warrior Adam Warlock, played by MCU newcomer Will Poulter.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 features more characters than ever, is even greater in scope, and will test the strength of the team like never before. As such, it’ll be well worth getting hooked on the feeling generated by this current roster of galactic oddballs for one thrilling final time.

featuring:

Cosmo The Spacedog

Borat 2’s breakout star Maria Bakalova lends her voice to bring the beloved comic character to the big screen. Though already introduced in the Guardians’ Holiday Special, Vol. 3 will mark the psychokinetic canine’s first full appearance after cameos in the MCU.

Adam Warlock

Another fan-favourite from the comics debuts as Adam Warlock, an almighty golden warrior created by the Sovereign and teased at the end of the of Vol. 2, enters the cosmic chaos and is sure to be a good foil for the Guardians.

The High Evolutionary

Portrayed by Chukwudi Iwuji, evolutionary scientist and Rocket Raccoon’s creator, the High Evolutionary, arrives in Vol. 3 with intentions of enhancing all living beings into one, singular “special race.”

BAD ROMANCE

Two

twenty-somethings navigate nightmare exes, brutal breakups, and healing broken hearts in a brand-new British romcom set on the streets of South London.

WORDS LEE CURTIS

Rye Lane

IN CINEMAS 17 MARCH

Director Raine Allen-Miller / Starring

Vivian Oparah, David Jonsson / Genre Comedy, Drama, Romance

David Jonsson is Dom, he’s just broken up with his girlfriend who’s been cheating on him with his best friend. Vivian Oparah is Yas, she’s also on the back of a bad breakup, with ex-boyfriend baggage and unhealed wounds of her own.

The story of their connection is classic romcom territory, but this is a modern boy meets girl story that centres on a peculiar meet-cute in

is a surprisingly perfect icebreaker and excuse they need to spend the rest of the day together. Their chance encounter blossoms into a beautiful friendship over the course of an eventful day in South London that involves stealing back Yas’s favourite record from her ex, double-dating with Dom’s ex and her new man, and experiencing a meet the parents moment to make anyone cringe. As they open their hearts to each other, there’s potential for new romance and compelling viewing as these two twenty-somethings figure out if they will or if they won’t.

This modern fairytale comes from debut director Raine Allen-Miller, who made her name on the advert and music video scene before announcing herself to the world of filmmaking with her BFI London Film Festival hit short, Jerk. Now, she cements herself as one of the most exciting new voices in British cinema with a vibrant, full of life, and comic celebration of meeting the right person at the wrong time.

Notting Hill

Richard Curtis and the late Roger Michell mastermind one of cinema’s most unlikely, yet mostloved meet-cutes when Julia Roberts walks into Hugh Grant’s bookshop on Notting Hill.

About Time Man Up

Domhnall Gleeson, Rachel McAdams, Bill Nighy, and London itself star in a more recent Richard Curtis classic that tells the story of a man who travels through time to woo the woman of his dreams.

A case of mistaken identity at Waterloo Station leads to unexpected romance for Lake Bell’s cynical Nancy and Simon Pegg’s romantic Jack who strike authentic chemistry in a hilarious and heartwarming romcom.

GOOD GOD! GOOD GOD!

The sequel to the superhero smash-hit brings the bodyswapping, powered-up teenager back for more and attempting to prove he’s in the same league as DC’s heaviest hitters as he and his super-powered foster family face the Daughters of Atlas.

Shazam! Fury Of The Gods

IN CINEMAS 17 MARCH

Director David F. Sandberg / Starring

Zachary Levi, Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu, Rachel Zegler / Genre Action, Sci-Fi

Shazam! gave audiences plenty to shout about, but the eagerly-awaited sequel sees Billy Batson’s superhero alter ego struggling with a severe case of imposter syndrome in a world where he’s surrounded by superspeedy, super-strong, super-cool Justice Leaguers. However, the arrival of ancient, all-powerful enemies does for our hero what no psychiatrist could as he’s forced to find his feet and fight for his family.

Joining the original returning cast, led by Zachary Levi as “The World’s Mightiest Mortal,” real-life goddesses Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu star as Hespera and Kalypso, the daughters of Greek God Atlas who are more than miffed that Billy and his brood have made off with God-like abilities that don’t belong to them.

The sinister sisters make a refreshing change for the two screen legends as the main antagonists of an epic encounter that not only puts the lives of Master Batson et al on the line, but the entire world, too. West Side Story’s Rachel Zegler is also along for the ride as the youngest of Atlas’ daughters, though it’s still to be seen which side she’ll take when the battle lines are drawn.

This “fate of the world” stuff sounds serious, but there’s still plenty to laugh about in the side-splitting, smack-talking Shazam! sequel that, much like the first, proves it’s best to embrace the silliness, especially when you’re battling a dragon with a truck as your only weapon.

SUPER BODY SWAPS

BIG

The fair may well be fun, but be careful what you wish for otherwise you might wind up as a young boy trapped in a grown man’s body like in this classic that launched Tom Hanks’ career and made floor pianos infamous.

FREAKY FRIDAY

A teenager body-swapping with her mom? Far from fun for the characters, but plenty for us as Jamie Lee Curtis is in her element turning back the clock while Lindsay Lohan squirms in disapproval at every turn.

SHE-HULK

Marvel’s newest addition has taken the small screen by storm. With her expandable outfit and fourth wall smashing, be sure you don’t make her angry when she eventually breaks onto the big screen.

NEW CITY, NEW RULES

The new Scream sequel says bye bye to Woodsboro for the very first time, but a move to New York only means new rules and a new playground for the Ghostface killer. WORDS AARON POTTER

Scream VI

IN CINEMAS 8 MARCH

Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett / Starring Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Courteney Cox, Hayden Panettiere / Genre Horror

Last year’s Scream revival was a real surprise hit, gloriously skewering the modern “legacyquel” and “re-quel” trends without dulling its satirical sharpness, slashing self-awareness, and classic Scream scares. Bringing past and present together, a new generation of Woodsboro teens team up with franchise favourites to solve a new mystery and Melissa Barrera’s Sam Carpenter confronts her family history to save her sister, Jenna Ortega’s Tara, from Ghostface’s blade. Fast forward one year later and the sisters have travelled to New York City in search of sanctuary. It isn’t long, however, until this fresh chapter of their lives is disrupted by a new streak of familiar-looking, but even more brutal murders.

Fortunately, the siblings will have help from Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding’s returning MeeksMartin twins Mindy and Chad, Courteney Cox’s Gale Weathers, and Hayden Panettiere’s Kirby Reed from Scream 4. Everyone will need to work together to learn the new rules of survival and unmask New York’s version of the infamous killer. Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott may be sitting this grisly adventure out, but last year’s success means there’s faith that the new generation can deliver a nightmare in the city that never sleeps.

SCREAM QUEENS

Courteney Cox

Jenna Ortega

Fresh from tearing up the Netflix streaming records in the titular role as Wednesday, Jenna Ortega’s Tara returns alongside her sister and switch cities to seek peace, but you can never run nor hide from Ghostface.

Spider-Men

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse

IN CINEMAS 2 JUNE

Directors Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, Justin K Thompson / Starring Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Oscar Isaac / Genre Animation, Adventure, Sci-Fi

As a young adult, it’s tough working out where you belong in the world, let alone the expansive multiverse. And that’s right where we find our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man in one of the most must-see superhero films of the year, back in Brooklyn and contemplating his role before being whisked back into the Spider-Verse. While the arachnid adventurers from all over the Spider-Verse got on like a house on fire first time around, things are less acrimonious on this occasion as Shameik Moore’s Miles Morales and Hailee Steinfeld’s Gwen Stacy receive a less than warm reception from a slew of new Spideys. Let’s hope they can come together before they get taken out for good by a villain with unprecedented power.

Into The Spider-Verse was as Amazing and Spectacular as any Spider-Man film should be and won the whole world over, picking up the Best Animated Feature Film at the Academy Awards on the way to being recognised by many as the finest Spider-Man film to date.

With creators Phil Lord and Chris Miller picking up the pen again, Oscar Isaac and Daniel Kaluuya adding their voices to an already enticing cast, and the promise of more innovative animation styles, Spidey senses are suggesting that this sequel is filling its successor’s sizeable shoes, and then some.

Alongside Miles Morales, Jake Johnson’s middle-aged Peter B. Parker returns and is joined by Oscar Isaac’s snarky Spider-Man 2099, a self-made mutant Spidey who appears in the credit sting of the last adventure. Add Daniel Kaluuya’s Spider-Punk, complete with electric guitar, and this sequel is going to get loud!

Spider-Women

The motorbike-riding SpiderWoman makes her big onscreen debut and is voiced by Issa Rae. Also, Hailee Steinfeld’s fan-fave Ghost Spider makes her return as she helps Miles in the multiverse.

Spider-What?

The first film introduces Spider-Ham, but things gets much weirder the further you venture Across The SpiderVerse. Look out, here comes Werewolf Spider-Man, SpiderCop, and Bombastic Bagman (Spidey with a paper bag on his head).

Can you help NHS hospital patients watch the latest film releasesfor free?

MediCinema is a UK charity which builds and runs cinemas inside NHS hospitals. Our cinemas give patients the magical escape and power of a big screen movie, helping them to leave the reality of the wards and their medical conditions behind. And they can visit in their beds, wheelchairs and with medical equipment.

Emerging from the past two years, many more of us understand what it is like to feel isolated, both at work, home, and away from friends and family. But for hospital patients, it has been really hard. They have been more isolated on the wards than ever before with few or no visits from loved ones.

A visit to a MediCinema brings a sense of connection, shared experience, joy, and distraction – just like it does in your local cinema.

To donate and learn more about what we do, please scan the QR code or visit our website.

Lee & Max:

We were completely blown away when we walked into the MediCinema for the first time and saw that it was like any other cinema – just with additional spaces for hospital beds! I think it’s sheer madness that there’s a cinema like that within a hospital – it’s brilliant! ”

Tom:

I’ve been in and out of hospital receiving physical and mental health treatment Having the MediCinema is something that saved me from the very dark days. To be able to be taken away from the ward and drift into the depths of a film is invaluable. ”
