Crawling from the ooze to save New York from a menagerie of mutants and still finding time to grab a slice, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back and better than ever in an all-star animated adventure.

Jackie ChaN

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem

IN CINEMAS 31 JULY

Directors Jeff Rowe, Kyler Spears / Starring Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, John Cena, Rose Byrne, Paul Rudd / Genre Animation, Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi

A passion project from the mind of self-proclaimed permanent teenager Seth Rogen looks set to be the most faithful version of the cool, crude, party dudes to ever hit cinema screens. That means you can expect bodypopping, shuriken-throwing, and lots of laugh-out-loud moments, all whilst our heroes save their city from certain doom. Cowabunga!

Instead of going down the welltrodden live-action route, directors Jeff Rowe and Kyler Spears, of

The Mitchells Vs The Machines fame, treat us to an astonishingly striking, Spider-Verse style of animation that feels like you’re watching a moving, living, breathing comic book.

It’s also the first time that the teenage turtles have been voiced by actual teenagers, too! Shamon Brown Jr, Nicolas Cantu, Brady Noon, and Micah Abbey lend their voices to the bodacious brothers Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Donatello, giving the film a youthful energy and enthusiasm that made the turtles’ name back in the nineties.

Throw in Jackie Chan as radical rat Master Splinter, Seth Rogen and John Cena as baddies Bebop and Rocksteady, and other well-known names voicing comic book favourites and this feels like the TMNT film that fans have been waiting a lifetime for. Turtle Power!

John Cena

You can’t see him, but you certainly hear the wrestling legend as the voice of rockhard Rhino, Rocksteady.

Paul Rudd

This forever-young fellow permanent teenager and Prince of Hollywood voices Mondo Gecko, the super-radical, skate-boarding, metal-loving leopard gecko.

THAT'S NOT ALL!

There’s Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil, Rose Byrne as Leatherhead, Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom, Ice Cube as Superfly, Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog, Post Malone as Ray Fillet, and Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman.

Barbie

IN CINEMAS 21 JULY

Director Greta Gerwig / Starring

Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling / Genre Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy

Barbie Land seems like the perfect place to be. It’s a pink and vibrant world that looks flawless on the surface, but open the doors to even the prettiest dream house and you might uncover its true colours within. In this fantasy adventure, this unique Barbie sets out on her defining journey of self-discovery and one of the most handsome Kens in Barbie Land follows close behind as he tries to prove there’s more to him than looks.

Lady Bird and Little Women director Greta Gerwig and fellow Academy Award-nominee Noah Baumbach bring a fresh take on the timeless toy that’s adored by generations. Margot Robbie trades Harley Quinn’s hot pants and hammer for a handbag and even brighter hot pants to star as Barbie, with Ryan Gosling and Shang-Chi’s Simu Liu leading the supporting cast of Kens who seek the Barbies’ approval. Will Ferrell, Michael Cera, and Sex Education star and Robbie lookalike Emma Mackey also feature in an exciting ensemble cast starring in this colourful film that brings Mattel’s global phenomenon to the big screen like never before.

OPPOSITES ATTRACT

In a sprawling metropolis where four very-different elements co-exist, a fiery girl and go-with-the-flow guy find out that opposites can really attract in the new Disney and Pixar animation.

Elemental

IN CINEMAS 7 JULY

Director Peter Sohn / Starring Leah Lewis, Mamoudou Athie / Genre Animation, Adventure, Comedy, Sci-Fi

She’s Ember Lumen. He’s Wade Ripple. Fire and Water – they’re the unlikeliest of pairs on paper, but these opposing elements, brought together by chance, will discover that they’ve actually got a lot more in common than they realise.

Elemental is drawn from the personal experience of its director Peter Sohn, famous for bringing as many smiles as broken hearts with The Good Dinosaur and voicing Lightyear’s family favourite feline, Sox. The son of Korean parents, who emigrated to New York before he was born, Sohn’s childhood as something of an outsider learning to find his place is the inspiration for an original story set in a fantastical, visuallystunning world where Fire, Water, Earth, and Air all live together.

Water

The founding element of a city that runs on Water, not only via floating boat trains! Wade and his fellow Water residents appear as bubbly human-like beings.

Earth

The harmony between Water and Earth creates a place where walking-talking pot plants, humanoid hedges, and cacti can thrive.

Element City showcases Pixar’s trademark animation as well as its imaginative, emotional, and universal storytelling as Sohn reunites with The Good Dinosaur producer Denise Ream and teams up with Finding

Nemo composer Thomas Newman and Turning Red creative consultant Brenda Hseuh, who writes the screenplay, to create a film that’s sure to get a positive reaction from every fun-loving family.

In a world where opposites can’t help but react, can Ember and Wade find a way to ignite the spark that saw them attract… and avoid the risk that things could combust?

Air

It’s a cool place for cloud people, too. It’s clear to see their design expands on the concept from Peter Sohn’s short Partly Cloudy.

FIRE

Being the last to arrive makes it hard to fit in, especially when you’re a living flame and have a spirit as fiery as Ember’s.

GAMER TO RACER

An impossible dream becomes reality in a high-octane thrill ride based on the popular PlayStation game and the true story of a gamer-turned-racer.

Gran Turismo

IN CINEMAS 11 AUGUST

Director Neill Blomkamp / Starring

Archie Madekwe, David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, Djimon Hounsou, Geri Halliwell Horner / Genre Action

After gaining success with onscreen adaptations of Uncharted and The Last Of Us, the next PlayStation game to get the cinematic treatment is one of their most famous. Inspired by the incredible true story of gamer-turned-real-racer Jann Mardenborough, who in 2011 beat ninety-thousand other GT Academy entrants to compete for Nissan in the Dubai 24 Hour race, director Neill Blomkamp invites

audiences to witness the rise of an unlikely champion... from bedroom to pole position.

Relative newcomer Archie Madekwe stars as Mardenborough and he’s joined by Orlando Bloom as Nissan executive Danny Moore and David Harbour as no-nonsense racing coach Jack Salter, who both play a huge role in making his impossible dream come true. Thrust behind the wheel of a racecar, Mardenborough quickly learns that taking to the track in real life is anything but a game, and he’ll need to work hard if he’s to compete with the world’s best drivers.

Gran Turismo marks the District 9 director’s first major Hollywood film for eight years, but his proven track record for action spectacle sets expectations high as he puts pedal to the metal to bring one of the world’s most beloved racing simulators to the big screen.

RACING: IT’S NO GAME

Need For Speed

Another popular racing game series gets the big screen treatment with Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul in the driving seat. Though it isn’t quite Fast & Furious, this cross-country journey for revenge isn’t short of thrills.

Ready Player One

No iconic movie vehicle is safe in the opening race that kicks off Spielberg’s bold translation of Ernest Cline’s gamingcentric novel. The Tron Lightcycle, DMC DeLorean, and Shotaro Kaneda’s brightred bike from Akira all feature.

The Super Mario

Bros. Movie

Many fans’ favourite moment from the biggest animated film of the year so far is the Rainbow Road sequence, where Mario and friends select their karts and battle-race back to the Mushroom Kingdom with Bowser in hot pursuit.

A REAL HERO

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One

IN CINEMAS 11 JULY

Director Christopher McQuarrie / Starring Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson / Genre Action

Hot on the heels of blowing up the box office and saving cinema with Top Gun: Maverick, Tom Cruise is back in action and teaming up with Christopher McQuarrie for their third Mission: Impossible.

Both have already made clear intentions to amp things up even higher than Fallout by taking to the streets of Italy, the UK, and other locations around the world to achieve new levels of action filmmaking.

How do you go bigger than scaling the tallest building in the world, holding onto the outside of a plane during take-off, or HALO-jumping from twenty-five thousand feet up? Well, with one of the most dangerous stunts in cinema history. While plot details remain strictly confidential, we know that the mission to stop a terrifying new weapon from falling into the wrong hands will

be Ethan Hunt’s most dangerous mission yet and centre on his most death-defying stunt yet. Among its epic set pieces, one sees Ethan ride a motorcycle to base jump off of a cliff, wingsuit eye-wateringly close to its face, before parachuting to safety. Achieving the perfect shot took six takes, proving nobody is more dedicated than Cruise to delivering the white-knuckle action that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Alongside returning series stalwarts Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, and Ving Rhames are Fallout’s Vanessa Kirby and newcomers Pom Klementieff and Hayley Atwell, the latter of which McQuarrie describes as a destructive force of nature. Has Ethan finally met his match? We would say it’s impossible, but he doesn’t know the meaning of the word.

Terminator 2: Judgement Day

Harley Davidsons have never looked cooler than when Arnold Schwarzenegger uses one to catch up with John Connor as he’s being pursued by Robert Patrick’s menacing T-1000. Arnie’s model is old, but not obsolete.

The Matrix Reloaded

The midpoint of the second Matrix movie culminates in a thrilling motorcycle chase sequence on a highway, where Trinity bobs and weaves in between traffic at insane speed to outrun agents and save The Keymaker..

TheDarkKnight

In the wake of Solomon Lane’s reign of terror, Ethan Hunt and the rest of the IMF team return to face the ghosts of their past in the first part of the explosive, globe-trotting seventh chapter.

ONE-MAN ARMY

The Equalizer 3

IN CINEMAS 1 SEPTEMBER

It’s been almost a decade since we first met the humble hardware store worker who turned out to be a highly-trained killer. Former CIA operative Robert McCall has since made a name for himself on his quest to atone for the sins of the secret life he wants to leave behind by using his very particular set of skills to clean the streets of Boston. But taking down street thugs, pimps, crooked cops, and Russian gangsters on his own turf is nothing compared to what he faces in his thrilling final chapter.

McCall has already proven that his justice has no borders with flying visits to Moscow and Turkey and now he expands his jurisdiction to a new, permanent home he’s found for himself in Southern Italy – a place where he hopes he can put his dark past behind him once and for all.

But just when he thinks he’s finally fulfilled the promise to his late wife, the lethal protector is called into action again.

Upon discovering the community that’s welcomed him is under the control of a brutal crime syndicate, McCall is triggered out of retirement. Only this time, he may have met his match and he’ll need all of his close combat expertise, more booby traps, and all of the fight he’s got left if he’s to equalise the battle against the mafia.

Partners For Justice

The return of Robert McCall marks the fifth collaboration between Denzel Washington and director Antoine Fuqua. As they close the book on The Equaliser, we look back at two other bringers of justice their creative partnership delivered.

Alonzo Harris Training Day

The renegade, no-nonsense narcotics detective has a unique outlook on justice and is more of a gangster than a cop. Washington’s towering performance at the heart of Fuqua’s masterpiece earned him his Best Actor Oscar.

Sam Chisholm

The Magnificent Seven

Serving justice by any means necessary is also the modus operandi of Washington’s bounty hunter, who leads a misfit band of hired guns to liberate a frontier town from a villainous baron in the wild reimagining of the western classic.

Haunted Mansion

IN CINEMAS 11 AUGUST

Director Justin Simien / Starring

Rosario Dawson, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, LaKeith Stanfield / Genre Comedy, Family, Horror

When single mother Gabbie and her son Travis move into an old and dingy mansion, things go about as well as anyone who’s heard a scary story would expect. All manner of ghosts and ghouls appear to inhabit the walls and dark corners of the building. As the haunts continue, Gabbie decides enough is enough. But to rid these horrors from her new home, she’s going to need some help.

Rosario Dawson stars as Gabbie, and those who answer her call are Owen Wilson’s overly enthusiastic priest, Danny DeVito’s grumpy history teacher, Tiffany Haddish’s strongwilled psychic, and

LaKeith Stanfield’s sceptical tour guide. Can this motley crew of so-called experts work together to exorcise the mansion?

That’s already an enticing cast, but even more characters from the Disney attraction come to the screen with Jamie Lee Curtis’s Madame Leota and Jared Leto’s Hatbox Ghost completing the all-star ensemble.

There’s far less concern about the expertise of the team behind the scenes as the film comes from the co-producer of The LEGO Movies and the writer of The Heat and the Ghostbusters reboot. With the creator of Dear White People at the helm, too, you’re guaranteed a good time when you dare to get in line for this spine-chilling, yet light-hearted experience that’s frightful fun for all the family.

A Ghostly Tour

Get an idea of what to expect from Haunted Mansion with our guide to the attraction it’s based on. While the ride differs slightly at each park, its core theme remains the same. You begin in a large room that starts to stretch as a mysterious voice beckons you down and gives you a simple task: escape. Seated in a two-person Doom Buggy, you embark on a whistle-stop tour through every classic horror trope in the book. Whether it’s spirits, the undead, floating candles, pianos that play themselves, or eerie animals, Disney’s Haunted Mansion has it all. If the ride is a “must do” at any Disneyland, then the film is definitely a must see.

As if the ride wasn’t scary enough! Buckle up and try not cover your eyes, you won’t want to miss a moment of Disney’s spooktacular take on their famous theme park ride.

Trolls Band Together

IN CINEMAS 20 OCTOBER

Directors Walt Dohrn, Tim Heitz / Starring Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Amy Schumer, Daveed Diggs, Zooey Deschanel, Eric André / Genre Animation, Adventure, Musical

Third time’s a charm for the king and queen of the Pop Trolls in Trolls Band Together, where love, laughter, music, and an unlikely reunion is in the air.

The good news is that Poppy and Branch have finally made their flirtatious relationship official, but the celebrations are dampened by the shocking surprise that Branch’s brother and former bandmate has been kidnapped by a new threat. Boyband phenomenon BroZone can’t reform without all of its bros, you see, so the pressure’s on to rescue him back.

A new musical outfit means new cast members, and filling out the BroZone ranks are Eric André, Kid Cudi, Troye Sivan, and Daveed Diggs. They join returning headliners Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake, who embark on a mission to track down the missing brother and save him from the clutches of villainous pair Velvet and Veneer, voiced by Amy Schumer and Andrew Rannells.

Zooey Deschanel, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Kenan Thompson return as fan-favourites, with pop superstar Camila Cabello and drag icon RuPaul among more exciting newcomers joining the fun.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Trolls movie without a banging karaoke soundtrack, so expect to be humming along to a setlist that includes We Are Family, Stayin’ Alive, and more hits when the Trolls make their bright, glittering, rainbowcoloured return to the big screen.

Mamma Mia!

The original jukebox musical translated to screen is full of so many toe-tapping hits from ABBA’s untouchable back catalogue that it can be hard to keep up. Reports of cinema attendees getting up on their feet was unheard of before, and since.

Pitch Perfect

No teenage girl could look at a set of cups the same way again after watching Pitch Perfect. Another excuse for Anna Kendrick to show she can sing as well as act, the Barden Bellas own every track they sing in wonderful acapella.

B B B

Sing

Featuring songs from a wealth of different musical artists, Taron Egerton, Scarlett Johansson, and Reese Witherspoon are among the Hollywood A-listers who get to test the range of their pipes in this story of misfit animals coming together to put on a show.

Now finally a couple, Poppy and Branch set out to reunite a beloved boyband in a new musical, multi-coloured adventure.
