Baby Mazikeen Hall Benefit Mazi was born July 15th, 2018 weighing 5 lb 1 oz. She was born with a birth defect called Gastroschisis. Gastroschisis is a birth defect that affects the newborn’s abdominal wall. Most babies with the condition will have their intestines sticking outside of their body near the belly button. Mazi has had surgery to place her intestines back into her body. However during surgery the doctors discovered that most of her small intestine was damaged and had to be removed. She is on a long path to recovery.
