The Memory Gardens in Lyle are located as you come into Lyle on 218 So. on the West side of the highway. The Caboose was placed on this city lot by the Tourism Committee several years ago. Also on the lot was a flag of flowers which was the first planting at the site. It was planted and maintained by several people from the community and the Lyle Legion Auxiliary. In later years it was replaced by the USA in stone. In the next several years, and with much hard work, the Memory Gardens have evolved. All the work is volunteer. We do have fundraisers for some things that are needed. The flowers, trees, shrubs, benches, arbors, fountain and a picnic table are all in memory of a loved one or in honor of someone. This past summer a sidewalk was added through the gardens making it accessible to all. It is definitely a labor of LOVE and it welcomes everyone to Lyle.
