Scrapbooking is one of those things that could take a little bit to learn, but it could be very addictive in the process. Some people learn naturally, while others need just a little bit of help to start. However, it is very rewarding in the end when you are able to show your friends and family your work. Here you have before your eyes, a little quick start guide to scrapbooking. Set out pictures of an event This is the most simple part of the process. Pick a group of about 2 to 8 pictures for a two page spread. They need to be pictures from the same time and event. Gather Tools The first thing you need to get is the basic tools of scrapbooking, which are: -Paper Trimmer (Board that cuts straight lines) -Adhesive (glue or glue dots) -Scissors Go Shopping This is going to be a fun part in your scrapping adventure. Go to your local scrapbook store and pick up some: -Embellishments (Keep in mind the color in the photos and the over all theme.) -Solid and Printed Paper (Make sure it coordinates with the photos you are using.) Be careful as it is easy to go overboard with the shopping. Just get a few items that fit your theme. Make the Page There are a few steps in the process of creating your first couple of scrapbook pages. -First, practice laying photos on your paper spread until you find the design that pleases you. -Second, matte the photos to frame and enhance the picture. This involves cutting pieces of paper that are 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch bigger than your photos. After this, we will attach the photos to the mattes. -Third, place the group of photos on the two page spread permanently and play with embellishments. Place different embellishments in the open spaces of your page (brads, paper, flowers, ribbon, etc.)

-Last, after you have everything placed where you want it, adhere the objects to the page and you are done. You have made your first scrapbook two page spread. You could do this process again and again, then before you know it, you have a scrapbook album. Alternatively: If you find that scrapbooking is too time consuming or troublesome, you could have someone take your photos and make the album for you. It is relatively painless, and you only have to provide marginal input.
