All iPods have a certain applications such as Music, Videos, Photos, iTunes, Safari, Contacts etc. some later models also added Mail, Maps, Notes and other similar stuff. All iPod Touch models are equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11b/g. One of the features that it lacked was the camera. On June 11, 2008 a Software Update was released. This allowed the first generation iPods to download third party applications, useful in solving and removing a lot of bugs. Another update was released in June 2009. The iPod Touch and the iPhone share almost the same hardware. The iPod Touch lacks some features of the iPhone. iPod Touch was always thought of as the predecessor to iPhone.
