OUR CLE RGY Dr. James C. Howell Senior Pastor Rev. Nathan Arledge Pastor of Missions & Community Engagement

There is one body, but many parts. But all its many parts make up one body. It is the same with Christ. - I Corinthians 12:12

Do you want to be more involved and meet more people at MPUMC? Do you find it hard to navigate a church of this size? Have you drifted away from involvement and want to find a way to reconnect? Don’t fret, the Connect team at MPUMC is here to help. The Connect team is a group of lay people of different ages and experiences with a mission to help people find their place and passion at MPUMC. It starts with you contacting the Connect team by email, online, or asking a church friend. From there, a Connect mentor will contact you via email or phone, and schedule a time to discuss your interests and what you want out of the MPUMC. With this information the mentor will provide recommendations to help you find your place. The process is easy and customized for each individual based on their interests.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY NEW HIRE by Amy Harriman

I am happy to announce that the Children’s Ministries team is now complete! Betsy Scott will join our department as our second Assistant Director of Children’s Ministries, working alongside Leslie Lowery, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! Betsy is currently a third grade instructional assistant at Trinity Episcopal School. Prior to working at Trinity, she taught preschool at The Children’s Circle for seven years. She has also worked at Summer Fun Days as a teacher and the Assistant Director. Betsy has been an active volunteer in Children’s Ministries through the years, serving on the Children’s Council, coordinating the Godly Play Sunday School program, and teaching Sunday School. Betsy’s service extends church-wide as she has also served as a member of the Nominating Committee and the Administrative Board, the Head of Commission on Local Outreach, and as a Youth Ministries’ Confirmation mentor. Betsy and her husband George have two daughters: Sadie, 14, and Sallie, 11. In her free time, Betsy enjoys reading, playing tennis, gardening, and spending time with family. Betsy will be with us on Sunday mornings until joining us full-time in June. Please welcome Betsy when you see her.
