January 31, 1919-1972 Early Life • Born in Cairo Georgia • First African American baseball player • Played four sports and is a great athlete • His batting average was .311 Jackie Robinson deserves to be in The Black History Hall of Fame because he has made baseball for black people and equal. He came all the way to make the Hall of Fame and rookie of the year. By doing that he broke many records like home runs and stealing records. With that said, he broke the color barrier and up to this date baseball is for everyone. Every baseball player wears the number 42 to celebrate the anniversary of Jackie Robinson. He died by a heart attack in Connecticut in 1972 at 7a.m. In his baseball career he was elected MVP and Rookie of The Year in 1947. In 1955 he was a World Series champ and retired in 1956. In conclusion, he was a big inspiration to children and men.
